Bertron Diib hails from the planet Diibworld.
History
He was an extremely loyal and selfless member of the L.E.G.I.O.N..
He was recuited into the R.E.C.R.U.I.T.S. along with Amon Hakk, Borb Borbb, Darius, Davroth Catto, Ig'nea, Jiv Reduu, Lydea Mallor and Zena Moonstruk. He helped battle the rogue Jiv Reduu when he was rejected from the team and he began murdering the other R.E.C.R.U.I.T.S.
He died on the planet Maltus during the battle against an ancient trio of gods. He gave his life trying to shield innocents from a massive energy discharge. His fellow R.E.C.R.U.I.T.S. returned his body to Diibworld to deliver the news to his mother.
Later, when the core L.E.G.I.O.N. were on the run from Lyrl Dox, they came upon an impervious ship, which they dubbed the Diib, in honour of their fallen friend. Bertron was best friends with another recruit the android, Darius.
Powers and Abilities
Powers
- Diib Physiology: Bertron's rock-like body gives him superhuman strength and durability.
- Superhuman Strength: He is many times stronger than a normal human being, although his strength level is unknown he was shown to be able to draw blood from Lobo.
- Superhuman Durability: Diib is described as "impervious", he is far more durable than a normal human, and can probably withstand impacts and pressures that could severely injure or kill a human with no discomfort.
- Energy Absorption: He is apparently able to absorb energy attacks, even this as limits as he is eventually killed by such an attack.
Weaknesses
- Rock Body: He can probably be broken, just as a regular rock can, but chances are he is more durable. His massive size also makes him slow and sometimes clumsy. His large fingers also make it difficult to pick objects or use small electronic devices needing small fingers.
