Alfred Pennyworth is the short-tempered, sarcastic, and loyal butler and guardian of Bruce Wayne. A former soldier and spy turned caretaker, he headed Pennyworth Security for a few years before aiding the G.C.P.D. on several occasions, all while training Bruce for his crusade against crime in Gotham City.

- This version of the character is exclusive to the continuity of the television series Gotham and is an adaptation of Alfred. The original character was created by Don C. Cameron and Bob Kane and first appeared in Batman #16.
- Alfred Pennyworth was portrayed by Sean Pertwee on Gotham, and by Jack Bannon on Pennyworth.
