Intangibility is the ability to pass through solid objects.

Capabilities[]
The user is able to make all or part of his or her body able to move unobstructed through solid objects. The user can make other people[1] and objects[2] intangible through physical contact. This allows the ghosts to pass through any solid object effortlessly and makes them immune to virtually all physical damage, as the attacks pass directly through the body without causing damage.
Ghosts can extend their intangibility to humans. Humans may experience a slight tingling sensation when turned intangible.[3]
In the Ghost Zone, humans possess this ability and are able to pass through solid matter.[4] It is not a controlled ability, unlike ghosts' intangibility on Earth which is a conscious decision. Humans' intangibility in the Ghost Zone is not applicable to all objects in the Ghost Zone, in that some walls will still stop humans from passing through. On rare occasions, humans are also intangible to ghosts in the Ghost Zone, though this is only seen once.[4]
Application[]
- Pass through solid objects, such as walls.
- Instant cleaning (by having dirt fall through the affected person's intangible body)[5]
- Evade most forms of physical attacks.
- Some ghost like Dark Danny and Danny can use intangibility to fuse together objects into others or fuse people together in order to make them one.
- In case if a half-ghost is separated from his ghost half, one can fuse back with his/her human half in order to become one again by becoming intangible.
- A halfa's ghost half can fuse back with their human half in order to become one whole again and/or with another ghost half to create a new ghost/being.
- Fusing an object inside somebody in order to make it untouchable/intangible and unreachable whether they are ghost or human.
- In case if a half-ghost is separated from his ghost half, one can fuse back with his/her human half in order to become one again by becoming intangible.
Limitations[]
- May be superseded by other ghost powers, such as ghost shields.
- Ability cannot be used to escape physical restraint by other ghosts.
- Even with intangibility protecting the ghost from damage in an explosion (like how Vlad protected himself in “The Million Dollar Ghost”) a ghost can still be pushed back by the force, particularly if they are floating at the time (as shown with Danny in “The Ultimate Enemy”).
- A ghost seemingly cannot use intangibility to escape if they are frozen, as shown when Vortex froze Danny in “Torrent of Terror”. When Vlad was frozen in his human form in “Infinite Realms” he was apparently unable to turn into his ghost form.
- Intangible beings can be canceled out by another being that is intangible, as Danny shown in “Maternal Instincts”.
- Ghost-hunting technologies may block the use of intangibility as a means of escaping, such as the Fenton Ghost Fisher.
- If the user is inexperienced, this power can activate at inopportune or embarrassing times.[1]
Trivia[]
- While intangibility and invisibility can be used simultaneously, they are two distinct powers. Invisibility is usually shown as the character's body turning transparent with only the eyes and black outlines remaining, while intangibility is usually shown as the character's body glowing blue with pale blue outlines. This is demonstrated during the theme song: Danny glows blue at "walk through walls," and turns transparent except for his outlines at "disappear."
