The Monster Ops: Neutralization (Monsterâs of a New Law (ã¢ã³ã¹ã¿ãŒãºã»ãªãã»ã¢ã»ãã¥ãŒãã¥) in the original Japanese, or MONster's New Law (ã¢ã³ã¹ã¿ãŒãºã»ãã¥ãŒãã¥) in the anime series), or M.O.N. for short, is a peacekeeping, law enforcement, and counter-terrorism agency sanctioned by the Interspecies Protection Act.
Formation[]
Due to a loophole in the new Extraspecies Laws prohibiting violence against non-human Liminal species, the police are unable to use necessary force to arrest extraspecies lawbreakers. The M.O.N, is a special unit comprised of four monster-girls, and led by Smith, to handle such "untouchable" situations involving extraspecies lawbreakers.
One of the first missions of the MON was to arrest some criminal humans who wanted to sell Liminal children on the black market. However, during the arrest they overlooked Kii, although the Dryad was later rescued by Papi.
They were called next in to deal with a gang of Orcs that had taken over a Libido Doujin. Manako sniped all their guns from a distance, Doppel disguised herself as a girl from one of the Dojin to draw the Orcs' attention, Tionishia got the hostages to safety, and Zombina took the Orcs' gunfire by pretending to be wounded, then launching a surprise attack on them. After arresting the Orcs, the team came to Kimihito's house with Smith for dinner.
The M.O.N. were later assigned to apprehend Rachnera (although Doppel was annoyed she didn't have anything to do), however she escaped. Later on they tracked her down to a warehouse where Smith agreed to having transferred her to Kurusu's household.[1]
Later on, when Kimihito was sent a death threat, M.O.N. were assigned to act as guards while Smith went on a "date" with him, however the operation failed when Miia and the rest of the girls arrived.[2]
Attire[]
All members of M.O.N.(excluding Doppel and Smith) wear a flak jacket with their team name on the back.

Trivia[]
- It can be inferred that after Chapter 22 Manako, Zombina, and Tionishia may have become attracted to Kimihito. This is finally more or less confirmed in Volume 10 with Tionishia being by far the most open-hearted with her affection for him. Doppel also seems to have developed at least a little crush to Kimihito over time, even though she, on the other hand, is the one among the four MON girls who least openly shows this affection towards him.
- They have a theme song of their own in the form of the anime's ending song "Hey! Smith!" which is sung by the seiyuus for all the members.
- As stated in Zombina's secrets, probably more than half of the M.O.N's budget goes to Zombina's shopping sprees of small firearms.
- As stated in Tionishia's secrets, due to her fondness for wearing frills and lazy things, she also wanted to make uniforms for the M.O.N, which had frills and laces on them. However, Ms Smith was opposed to this idea.
- In Chapter 41, Kimihito speculates that it is Tio's motherly,warm-hearted aura that keeps the MON so strong together as a team.
- Although the four MON girls have become important supporting characters in the manga series over time, almost nothing from their past before MON has been revealed, which is why it is not known how they even met or why they were specially chosen as a team by the Japanese government. It can be assumed that Smith selected the four girls based on their characteristics/sbilities and brought them together as a team, but appart from that nothing more is known about it.
- As seen in Chapter 85, also other Liminals like several male Ogres and Oni also work at the MON, presumably in similar teams like the four girls.
