Bardd, hanesydd ac awdures o Gymru oedd Jane Williams, neu Ysgafell (1 Chwefror 1806 – 15 Mawrth 1885). Fe'i ganed yn Llundain i rieni Cymreig ond ymsefydlodd ym mhentref Talgarth, Brycheiniog.
Ystyrir ei chyfrol arloesol A History of Wales derived from Authentic Sources (1869) y llyfr gorau ar y pwnc hyd gyhoeddi gwaith Syr John Edward Lloyd.
