His "Good" Ranking[]
His "Heroic" Deeds[]
In General[]
- Rain's complex character is multifaceted, driven by a mix of self-serving motivations and a desire to protect his homeland. Despite his egotism and tendency to prioritize his own interests, he ultimately seeks to free Edenia from the shackles of oppression. This underlying goal underscores his actions, even when they appear to be driven solely by a desire for power or personal gain.
- After initially allying with evil forces, Rain seeks to reclaim his heritage and protect his realm from tyranny.
- Despite his egotistical and hostile demeanor, he remains genuinely affable to everyone.
- He refrains from harming innocent individuals, such as children.
Original Timeline[]
- In his UMK3 ending, he joins forces with Kitana to defend Earthrealm and put an end to Shao Kahn's reign of terror.
- While his intentions may be rooted in a desire to eliminate Taven and Daegon, it is ultimately a positive development that he is focused on targeting Daegon specifically. By aiming to bring an end to Daegon's reign of terror, he is not only addressing the immediate threat posed by this formidable adversary but also working towards a greater good. Daegon's corrupt rule has caused significant suffering and chaos, and by seeking to put a stop to it, he is taking a stand against oppression. This act of defiance could pave the way for a more peaceful and just existence for those who have been affected by Daegon's actions. Thus, while his methods may be violent and his motivations complex, the underlying goal of dismantling Daegon's power can be seen as a necessary step toward restoring balance and safety in their world.
Alternate Timeline[]
- In his MK9 ending, Rain betrays and drowns Shao Kahn after learning he was being exploited and denied his own army. Though he then targets Earthrealm for conquest, his actions ultimately bring an end to Shao Kahn's reign of terror.
- While his betrayal of Mileena was motivated by his desire to claim the throne, he also intended to end her deception of impersonating Kitana.
- In his MK11 ending, although his methods are extreme, he vowed to avenge his mother's death after learning it was caused by Argus and about his parentage.
Why He Isn't Actually Heroic?[]
- While he's not a tyrant, he's done heinous acts, such as enslaving Edenia in his MKA ending after gaining God powers, and betraying everyone he knew even the Edenian Resistance so he can lead his army, even trying to kill Taven and Daegon.
- In his MK9 ending, he betrayed Raiden and plans on concurring realms including Earthrealm.
- He has done more in MKX, he alongside Tanya and Mileena commanded war against Kotal Kahn, eventually betraying her and Tanya to get Shinnok's amulet to claim the throne for himself.
- In his MK11 ending, though avenging his mother, his vengeance goes too far, killing Argus, Taven and Daegon and letting Delia live so she can be heartbroken and weep just like his mother did.
- While he retires from villainy, he doesn't necessarily seek redemption; instead, he remains neutral, grappling with remorse. Even after his retirement, he continues to waver between his past and present.
