Arnim Zola is a major character in Season 1 and a minor antagonist in Season 2 the 2021 Marvel Cinematic Universe animated anthology series What If...?.
He is a variant of one of Arnim Zola's various artificial intelligence copies, who is one of the few survivors of Infinity Ultron's omnicidal campaign throughout the multiverse. He was retrieved from the Siberian HYDRA base by Black Widow and Hawkeye in desperation, to be used to override Ultron's intelligence.
Like his original version, he was voiced by Toby Jones.

- He helped Black Widow escape from the Ultron Sentries.
- He permanently destroys Infinity Ultron, which is considered one of the most admirable acts of the whole series due to Infinity Ultron's fixation on mass omnicide on a multiversal scale.
Why He Isn't Actually Heroic?[]
- While defeating Infinity Ultron was a remarkably admirable act, it wasn't out of any altruistic intent because his teaming up with Black Widow and Hawkeye was purely done for selfish reasons and at the end, he backstabbed all of the Guardians of the Multiverse to steal the Infinity Stones for himself and almost endangered the Multiverse, hence why Strange Supreme who actually became good again had to imprison him. As a result, he is not an On & Off character.
- He spent most of his time prior to the events of the story killing millions of people under his role as a HYDRA agent with no remorse, making him too lethal for NPG.
