Technical Updates: February 7, 2025
Hello, hello, hello, lovelies! This is the first of two tech blogs I will be posting in February. This is the place for you to be updated on a selection of bug fixes that got fixed over the course of the past two weeks, what's being worked on, and what you may expect in terms of experiments and releases. It's also a great opportunity to ask questions or report problems in the comment section. A general note that has been unique to all the tech blogs of 2025 thus far is that there seemingly haven't been that many fixes or announcements. The simple reason for this is because a lot of the engineers have been helping to review and prepare the update of all the wikis on the platform to the MediaWiki 1.43 version. A lot of work goes into that be…

Eyo, lovely people! Welcome (back) to the Technical Updates blog series, where I will take you through a selection of updates on what happens on the tech side of the Fandom platform. This ranges from reporting on a selection of fixed bug tickets, things that are being worked on, experiments planned or running, and releases that you may already have noticed. I will be posting this update every two weeks, but while it's intended as a way for Fandom Staff to update you on things from our end, it's also a great place to sound off in the comments to let us know about what's on your mind when it comes to platform feedback or bug reporting.. Now that that's clarified, let's dive in!

Eyo my lovely people! How time has flown by, and as we near the end of the year, we are at the end of the Technical Updates series for as far as 2024 is concerned. If you're new and wondering what this is: every two weeks, the technical updates are posted to give you all an overview of releases, bug fixes, and other things relevant to the platform and that may have an impact on your experience. It's also a good place to give your feedback and report on bugs. With the yearly code freeze starting Monday, December 16th, no new releases are planned anymore, which is also not that surprising since we saw one of the biggest, most visual releases go live earlier this week! Let's dive in!
