Dear Husseyn Issa,

I am contacting you because you are a member of the organizing team of Wiki Loves Earth 2024 in Tanzania.

The contest page states that winners will be announced on 20th of August 2024. We are now 2nd of October 2024 and the winners have still not been announced neither on Wiki Loves Earth 2024 in Tanzania and neither on Wiki Loves Earth 2024 international winners page.

I therefore kindly ask when will winners be announced?

Dear @Giles Laurent the winners weren’t announced because the event and and activities didn’t took place as we expected, due to unforeseen circumstances!

Sorry to say that there is no activity that has been done, we tried to our level best and hope next campaign to have a proper discussion and arrangement with the global/international team to make sure the issues are well addressed!

But to this point there is no any results or products of anything.

I have been waiting for 2 years for the results of Wiki Loves Earth 2022 in Tanzania (that still haven't been published yet) and am now afraid to never have the results of Wiki Loves Earth 2024 in Tanzania as well...

Could you please make sure that the results of WLE 2024 in Tanzania get published as soon as possible?

If the jury that signed for doing WLE 2024 in Tanzania is still around they can still chose the top 10 of WLE 2022 in Tanzania and WLE 2024 in Tanzania. If they are not available anymore new people may be found to be the jury or maybe just 1 person could be the jury (you for example)

As for the "Top 3" appearing on WLE 2022 in Tanzania it's only the 2021 winners and not the 2022 winners that are still not announced -- Giles Laurent (talk) 22:27, 20 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Yes the jury only needs to select the top 10 pictures among WLE 2022 in Tanzania 130 pictures (and sort them from 1st, 2nd, etc to 10th) + select the top 10 pictures among WLE 2024 in Tanzania 1057 pictures (and sort them from 1st, 2nd, etc to 10th).

Once it's done you can publish the 2022 results on the 2022 page and the 2024 results on the 2024 page.

There is then two possibilities for the international part :

- either you copy paste the 2022 and 2024 winning pictures in the Wiki Loves Earth 2025 international winners page when it will be created in 2025 ;

- either you only copy paste the 2022 winning pictures and put them on WLE 2022 international winners page (in the Tanzania section) and copy paste the 2024 winning pictures and put them on WLE 2024 international winners page (in Tanzania section) (but in this case the winning pictures would never have a chance to be among the top10 worldwide because the top10 worldwide 2022 are already announced and the top10 worldwide 2024 will soon be announced) -- Giles Laurent (talk) 23:22, 20 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

1. The jury for WLE 2024 are around and i will communicate with them tomorrow ASAP, but the thing is we do not know the products(images) and participants of 2022 so we can judge from there, but if you have them (Images) you can share with us and hope to start from there.

Hello @Giles Laurent am happy to officially announce the release of the result of the WLE 2022 results and WLE 2024 results. Further the photos are also published in the 2022 international page and 2024 international page respective to the photos.

I would love to thank all the juries @Jonny Frosty and @Pellagia Njau who made this whole process smoothly. Looking forward hearing from you again.

And on behalf of the whole organizing team and juries i deeply provide my apologies for the unforeseen circumstances that led to the delay of the results.

Wow, I wasn't expecting it to happen so fast after your last message, thank you to everyone that made this possible!

I am also deeply honored and very happy that my photos made it to the top 10 of Wiki Loves Earth in Tanzania!

For WLE 2025 in Tanzania all that would need to be done is to announce the 2025 results in time so that the images from Tanzania have a chance in competing for the worldwide top10. Also don't hesitate to read that page that is almost the same every year.
