Location?
[edit]Hi David - many thanks for adding your excellent photos to Commons! They would be even more valuable if you could add the locations in India where they were taken, please; this makes it possible to add details like subspecies, and so on. Thanks! - MPF (talk) 21:54, 25 September 2016 (UTC)

If you created this file, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. Frog photos
[edit]Hello Davidvraju, how are you? Thank you very much for your excellent photos. I was going through the photos in the Category:Unidentified Anura and I found a lot of your photos. Do you have their scientific or common name? If so, could you add it to their description and categorize them under their scientific name please? I feel it will be a pity that they stay there where little use can be done of them, especially as Commons doesn´t have too many frog photos of tropical species. I can give you a hand with anything you need. Thank you! Best wishes. --Erfil (talk) 18:20, 22 September 2017 (UTC) Ps: the filenames of your photos in that category start all with your name

Location ?
[edit]Hi Davidvraju - do you have a location for File:Long Tailed shrike David Raju.jpg, please? Thanks! - MPF (talk) 15:53, 23 December 2019 (UTC)
- Also for File:Ashy drongo.jpg, please - locations (even if just state or district) will help with subspecies identification. Thanks! - MPF (talk) 15:05, 25 March 2020 (UTC)
- A location for Rusty_spotted_cat.jpg would also increase the value of the image. JMK (talk) 15:47, 14 August 2020 (UTC)

Location, location, ...
[edit]Wonderful uploads. They would be vastly more valuable if they have some location data, even if only the state of India is mentioned, like Kerala, etc. JMK (talk) 19:41, 29 April 2023 (UTC)
- Yes, agree, absolutely! Example: File:Kentish Plover David Raju.jpg - is it taken in northern India (Charadrius alexandrinus alexandrinus), or southern India (Charadrius alexandrinus seebohmi, likely to be split soon as a separate species Hanuman Plover Charadrius seebohmi ref.)? This is very important! Do please say where your photos are taken! Many thanks in advance - MPF (talk) 10:45, 15 May 2023 (UTC)
WHERE. IS. IT.???
[edit]Please add locations to your photos. Multiple people have asked you to do so, but you have never responded. As just one of numerous cases, File:Scarlet Minivet David Raju.jpg is useless without location information, as it is impossible to tell if it is Pericrocotus flammeus or Pericrocotus speciosus. Ask yourself: what is the point of adding useless photos to Commons? - MPF (talk) 17:23, 15 November 2023 (UTC)

Tipia ID - and yet again location
[edit]How were the IDs supplied for the following images?
- File:Tiphia_nilgirensis_(1).jpg
- File:Tiphia_nilgirensis_(2).jpg
- File:Tiphia_nilgirensis_(3).jpg
- File:Tiphia_nilgirensis_(4).jpg
The necessary traits to key species in this genus aren't visible in the photo and would require knowing at least some info about location to verify. There are about 8 species just in India with identical coloration, and even more species outside of India that will look nearly identical in photos. It's impossible to verify your IDs without this information. Furthermore, these IDs have no scientific value if the ID is impossible to reproduce and cannot be verified to have arrived via keying the photographed specimen. Hitchens's razor. Reproducibility is one of the major principles behind science, after all. Lhikan634 (talk) 01:59, 19 January 2025 (UTC)
- It was collected from Wayanad (lakkidi),kerala, india and photographed and later put in the vials for identification and id is done by the Dr. Hanima (ZSI,Kozhikkode) , she was the one who descried those new species recently. It was ided and verified by Dr. Hanima. Davidvraju (talk) 05:56, 25 January 2025 (UTC)
