Getting help

More information is available at the community portal. You may ask questions at the help desk, village pump or on IRC channel #wikimedia-commons (webchat). You can also contact an administrator on their talk page. If you have a specific copyright question, ask at the copyright village pump.

Goodies, tips, and tricks

Put Babel boxes on your user page so others know what languages you can speak and indicate your graphic abilities.
You can find the files you have uploaded in your Uploads.
Please sign your name on Talk pages by typing ~~~~.
To link to an image page without embedding the image, type: [[:File:Foo.jpg]], which produces: File:Foo.jpg.
You may enable gadgets (custom features) for your account.
There are several tools to upload files.
Have you edited Wikipedia before? This guide might be useful.

Do you want to have a file renamed or moved? Use the move link and wait for an authorized user to rename it.

Comprendo, muchas gracias. Aun me queda mucho trabajo en hacer para mejorar en los artículos de las infraestructuras españolas, donde tiene que ser mas transparente a todos los demás. Una vez a la semana hago la patrulla para vigilar a los artículos de las infraestructuras españolas para tener la mejor verificabilidad con las fuentes de confianza y referencias. Cualquier error o cualquier malintencionado se verá obligado a intervenir para que pueda estar más claro de que esté vinculado las fuentes de confianza. He estado aprendiendo muchísimo a lo largo de años, aprendiendo algunas funciones que le desconocía y defender a las normas de Wikipedia.

De acuerdo, pero tienes que saberlo que le necesita saber los distritos de Madrid, aunque tiene que poner el nombre y distrito, por ejemplo: Arganzuela District, Barajas District, etc. Imagínate que si fuera algo comprobado con otro lugar que tiene el mismo nombre, puede producir un conflicto de las categorías y por eso, le nombré el cambio del título para que ponga el distrito. Fíjate el caso de Vicálvaro que no lo ha puesto el District y debe de nombrarse como "Vicálvaro District" (fíjate que Vicálvaro, antes era un pueblo independiente de la ciudad de Madrid y hasta los años 50 le anexionaron a Madrid). Estaba trabajado en ampliarse la información de los 21 distritos de Madrid en Wikidata, que había información desactualizada, y lo estaba haciendo poco a poco, porque son bastantes distritos madrileños. Cuando realicé el cambio del titulo, le tuve que modificar en el Wikidata, aunque no lo sabía que había subcategorías que afectan a las categorías que tuvieron que modificar los administradores y le pido las disculpas. Si quieres saberlo que hay algunos distritos que debo de poner District, te lo avisaré antes, y me darás el permiso, si te parece bien, para que pueda controlar los distritos que sean lo mismo que pueda definirse oficialmente el District.

Fake SVGs

Hi @Autopistero20502020. This is a request to ask you to stop uploading fake SVG files, and to stop overwriting existing files with fake SVG files. A fake SVG is one that only contains raster graphics. This reduces the quality of the image. A true SVG should only contain vector graphics. Sospecho que no me entienda correctamente (pero siempre es posible que sea yo que no se entienda, porque no hablo español de nativo).

El problema no es lo que represente el archivo visualmente. Es que cuando amplia el imagen, no resulta bien. Vea por ejemplo File:ESP AC-012 (azul).svg (si todavía no está borrado). En partiucular, vea https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/5/57/ESP_AC-012_%28azul%29.svg/1280px-ESP_AC-012_%28azul%29.svg.png. La intención de SVG es representar el imágen en un modo más abstracto ("A" va aquí a esto tamaño; entonces "C" aquí al mismo tamaño; et cetera). Cuando indica el contenido explicitamente a la nivel de las píxeles, en lugar de las líneas, los símbolos, las curvas, derrota enteramente el objetivo del formato SVG, y introduce artefactos visuales (en inglés decimos "aliasing", no sé como se dice en español).

Ah, te entiendo perfectamente, pero no te preocupes por el idioma, tienes que reconocer que soy una persona sorda que tengo problemas de la comunicación en la lengua materna española.

Bien, el diseño de los ficheros SVG que lo he creado yo, lo diseñé a través de Photoshop y luego pasé a Illustrator para dejar en formato SVG, el problema es que lo diseñé solo para los iconos pequeños y no grandes. Todos los iconos de las infraestructuras terrestres españolas siempre tiene que tener el tamaño pequeño para los artículos de Wikipedia. Ha habido muchos iconos que lo corregí yo a los antiguos iconos es por el formato de la norma 8.1-IC señalización vertical del año 2014 (Instrucción de Carreteras) con la fuente: https://www.fomento.gob.es/az.bbmf.web/documentacion/pdf/re3723.pdf y me preguntaba porque Wikimedia Commons solo cuando pongas la imagen y aparece automáticamente en formato grande que allí es lo que se ve un poco mal pixelado (líneas irregulares o algo así), tal como le mencionas.

Luego, estuve investigado hace pocos años para encontrar una solución a tener una mejor imagen SVG y probé en otras aplicaciones que ofrecieron aquí en Wikimedia Commons para diseñar y resultaron inútil, salieron mal y mal. He estado trabajado muchísimo para que pueda salir perfecto la imagen SVG, de todas las nuevas señalizaciones del Tráfico de España y incluso la actualización de los antiguos iconos de la anterior normativa. Al menos que el diseño para todos los artículos de Wikipedia tiene que salir los iconos más pequeños, que eso no le afecta la visualización, ya que debería de encontrar alguna solución para que pueda salir bien en formato grande.

Había un autor o autores de los diseños que hicieron estos iconos que este caso le salieron bien, pero es de hace varios años y ahora, había otros diseños algo recientes que también había problemas como en mi caso, es por algo que ha cambiado algo aquí en Wikimedia Commons sobre el formato de la imagen que no sé si afectará a JPG, PNG, etc. Todo lo que he realizado un gran esfuerzo que no me había servido por lo que probé muchas veces que le sale bien en mis aplicaciones de diseños gráficos y luego le sale mal aquí en Wikimedia Commons, cosa que no puedo seguir así. La verdad es que ahora mismo, solo hay muy pocos autores de los diseños de los iconos que sigue aquí, yo soy el más que he subido que los demás. Lo hice por la transparencia de los artículos de Wikipedia que me he especializado en las infraestructuras de las carreteras, autovías y autopistas de España, además de voluntariado en el Wikipedia gallego.

Ojalá que alguien que me ayude a encontrar la mejor solución para corregir los iconos con pixeles irregulares en formato grande, ya que en los artículos de Wikipedia solo se ve los iconos pequeños, siempre en todos los artículos y nadie se queja por ello.

Si los archivos que estás creando están basados fundamentalmente en píxeles, colócalos en formato raster (por ejemplo, PNG o JPG). Con la posible excepción de pequeños "bitmap graphics" donde existe una intención deliberada de parecer "en bloques", no tiene sentido colocar en SVG contenido basado en píxeles. De acuerdo, lo investigaré y lo probaré, a ver si tiene que salir bien la imagen. Es que Wikimedia Commons, nos obliga a subir los ficheros que sea siempre el formato SVG porque reduce bastante el espacio y mejorar la calidad de la imagen, no solo por la dimensión. Sabemos que si le añade el formato JPG o PNG, por ejemplo, eso le da mucho espacio y no cabe en el almacenamiento del servidor. Sabemos que subieron millones de imágenes que me imagino que le ocupa bastante el espacio y para ello, esta el SVG como la mejor opción más fiable y factible a tener menos espacio.

El almacenamiento no es un problema en absoluto. Lo que importa es el gasto adicional que supone descargar cada vez que se accede a la imagen. Y un jpeg o PNG a la misma (mala) calidad de un SVG "falso" sería también pequeño. - Jmabel ! talk 21:40, 9 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Test SVG (Vector graphics)

(English): I have made a SVG test following the instructions of @Jmabel with the badly focused image of the icon “AC-012”, and I had to try several ways until I could get the image perfectly focused and that is vector. Me parace un SVG falso de mejor calidad. No contiene ningunos vectores; es un PNG envuelto finamente por una caja de SVG.

Sería un buen PNG, pero no hay razón para que esto se envuelva como SVG.

Volviendo a algo muy básico con respecto a gráficos de computadora: ¿Entiende Vd. que significa "raster" y "vector"? Por ejemplo, considere File:JP Expressway C1.svg. Su contenido entero es:

Es muy dificil (pueda decir "casi imposible") convertir un imágen en un imágen vector. La imágen puede guiar la creación del imágen vector, como observar un modelo puede guiar un pintor. Pero no más. De acuerdo, esta es la solución definitiva para evitar el falso SVG, por lo visto, lo había subido unos cuantos ficheros que le debo de corregir, ya que eso es mucho trabajo en cambiar todos los códigos. Gracias por tu ayuda y por la diferencia de los gráficos vectoriales. Eso va a tardar unos cuantos meses de revisión de unos iconos de todas las infraestructuras terrestres españolas, calcularía entre 1000 y 1500 iconos que son las nomenclaturas de las carreteras, autovías y autopistas de peaje (nacionales, autonómicas y locales). Le recuerdo que no todos lo hice yo, sino, lo hicieron los otros autores y seguramente los otros autores habrán hecho bien o mal los códigos que me encargo yo la revisión completa. Si sale mal, lo debo de corregir, si te parece bien.

Tenla en cuenta de que estos iconos tiene que ser el fichero en formato SVG, porque hace muchos años, modificaron los ficheros JPG y PNG para simplificarse los tamaños de las imágenes que sustituyeron a los gráficos vectoriales. Con el cambio de las normas de las imágenes, los otros autores subieron los iconos, poco a poco, incluyendo un administrador que cambiaron todos los nombres de los ficheros para dejar empezado las letras "ESP" para identificar que son iconos de las infraestructuras españolas, supongo que el resto de los iconos internacionales podría estar identificado por cada país. Al igual de las señalizaciones de tráfico que también tiene que ser de formato SVG por ser grafico vectorial, que eso lo supondrá en el futuro para la revisión. Además de estos iconos, vamos a mejorar la calidad de la forma según el tamaño que sea visible en toda Wikipedia.

Bueno, pues nada, voy a salir adelante a unas cuantas revisiones y corregir los códigos.

@Autopistero20502020 You could consider reducing your workload by instead creating "templates" where possible, see Category:Highway shield templates for examples. Then you can make a request at User:Highway Route Marker Bot/Requests to make a request for the sequences you need. The bot will then create the files based on the sequence of numbers you provide. I believe people usually send an email to the author asking for their work to be licensed under a free license with a brief explanation of the benefits of a free license ("The company's Wikipedia article would benefit from visual recognition...") preferrably with a link to Commons:Wikimedia VRT release generator, then the request gets processed by VRT when/if the generated evidence is sent to the VRT email.
