3 OKTOBERFEESTEN; Weekjournaal van Polygoon Hollands Nieuws van week 40 uit 1938.; De jaarlijkse feesten te Leiden tgv de herdenking van het Leidens Ontzet dat plaatsvond in de nacht van 2 op 3 oktober 1574. SHOTS: - grote rij mensen wachtend voor gebouw waar men haring en wittebrood uitreikt en mensen die met haring en wittebrood het pand verlaten; - historisch-allegorische optocht met als thema "In en om het Leidse stadhuis, waarin een groot aantal mensen in historische kostuums meeloopt en in koetsen meerijdt. Tevens rijdt een groot schilderij van het stadhuis mee.
