English: Media related to U.S. Route 50 in Utah (US 50'), a 334.92-mile (539.00 km) section of U.S. Numbered Highway in Utah, United States, that is a major east–west corridor through the central part of the state that connects U.S. Route 6 (US 6) / US 50 in Nevada with Interstate 70 (I-70) / US 6 / US 50 in Colorado, passing through Delta, Holden, Scipio, Salina, and Green River. A substantial portion of the highway on the eastern and western sides of the state runs concurrent with US 6 and the eastern half runs concurrent with I-70. It also has short concurrencies with Interstate 15 (in Millard County), U.S. Route 89 (in Sevier County), and U.S. Route 191 (in Emery and Grand counties).
Prior to 1937, US 50 entered the state in Wendover, and then continued east along what is now roughly Interstate 80, Utah State Route 201, U.S. Route 89, and US 6, until it reached its current alignment west of Green River. In 1937, the western half was realigned south to concur with the current alignment of US 6 (and thereby running concurrent through the entire state). The former section of US 50 (from Nevada to Moark Junction [in eastern Spanish Fork], as well as the former section in Nevada, was designated as U.S. Route 50 Alternate (US 50 Alt.). By 1976, with the completion of I-70, the central part of the route was moved south to its current alignment and the US 50 Alt. was decommissioned. From 1910 to 1977, the (nearly) current corridor of US 6 (and evemually U.S. Route 50) in the state, east from Nevada to I-70 was designated by the Utah State Legislature as State Route 27, with the remainder as State Route 6. In 1977, the State Route 27 designation was deleted from the state highway system and the entire US 50 in Utah (except its concurrencies) was designated as Utah State Route 50.
