English: The Thirteen Stele Pavilions (or Thirteen Tablet Pavilions) are located in one of the courtyards of the Temple Confucius (Kong Miao) in Qufu. The narrow courtyard is between the Star of Literatue Pavilion (Kuiwen Ge) in the south and the Gate of Great Perfection (Dacheng Men) in the north.

The pavilions are arranged in 2 rows: 8 in the southern rows, and 5 in the northern row.

The 5 pavilions in the northern row house large Qing Dynasty bixi, one per pavilion, from the Qianglong, Yonghzheng, and Kangxi eras.

The 8 pavilions in the southern rows contain smaller stelae: most have one to three tortoise-based stelae, plus some smaller stelae without tortoise (bixi) pedestals; however, the 1st and 6th pavilions (counting from the east) only have tortoise-less stelae, several in each. Among these 8 pavilions, the two middle pavilions (4th and 5th, counting from the west) contain Yuan Dynasty steles, many of which also have inscriptions in 'Pags-pa script. The 3rd pavilion has Jin (Jurchen) Dynasty stelae, and the 6th, both Jin and Yuan stelae. In total, there are 17 tortoise-borne stelae in the 13 pavilions. All tortoises (and their steles), are facing south, as it is customary for Chinese temples.

There are no major Ming Dynasty stelae in these 13 pavilions, because those (4 large tortoise-borne stelae) are located in another courtyard, south of the Star of Literature Pavilion (Kuiwen Ge).

There are also rows of stelae (with no tortoises under them) in the small areas to the southeast and southwest of the 13 pavilions.
