English: The Nisei Week Festival, the Nisei Week or the Annual Nisei Week Japanese Festival (Japanese: 二世週日本祭 Nisei-shū Nihon Matsurior 二世週祭 Nisei-shū Matsuri) is an annual festival that celebrates Japanese and Japanese American culture and heritage. It takes place in Little Tokyo, Los Angeles in August. Participants, performers and sponsors include Japanese American officials, veterans and cultural organizations, local businesses (Japanese or otherwise), the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD), Southern California kenjinkai (Japanese prefectural associations), as well as various cultural organizations and other guests from Japan. The Grand Parade also features Japanese characters.
