Santa Goes Downtown

"Santa Goes Downtown" is the first Christmas episode of the NBC sitcom Night Court, produced and aired as the second episode of the show's first season. Ironically, its original air date came less than a month after Christmas 1983.

The season is merry as Harry deals with a "Santa" charged with trespassing and tries to restore the faith of a pair of cynical teenage runaways.

The lead runaway is a young scam artist. While the "Santa" turns out to be a harmless escaped mental patient, there are distinct hints that he may in fact be the real thing.
