Patty is a character from the comic strip Peanuts, created by Charles M. Schulz. (She is not to be confused with Peppermint Patty, a different character introduced later in the strip.) She was one of the first characters introduced in the strip, alongside Charlie Brown and Shermy. However, since she, like Shermy, lacked the discerning characteristics of later characters like Lucy, Linus, and Schroeder, she became a less prominent character as years went by, eventually disappearing from the strip in the 1970s.
Appearances in Christmas specials[]
Patty's only major appearance in a Christmas special was in the original A Charlie Brown Christmas, in which she firmly believes that the school's Christmas play will turn out terrible because Charlie Brown is the director. Curiously, recent storybook adaptations of the special replace her with Peppermint Patty.
Patty makes a cameo appearance at the beginning of It's Christmastime Again, Charlie Brown. Charlie Brown tries to sell a Christmas wreath to her, but she rejects his sales pitch because it isn't Thanksgiving yet. She is also seen with the other kids in the school Christmas pageant near the end of I Want a Dog for Christmas, Charlie Brown.
She also appeared in the Peanuts Motion Comics episode "Dear Santa Claus".
