The Charmed Ones' containment spell is a spell that is used to restrain a being or object by containing them within a force field. The Vera-Vaughn-Danso Charmed Ones utilized this spell on multiple occasions after relocating to Seattle. It is a type of containment spell. Any beings trapped within the field can be released with a simple reversal spell.
Overview[]
The spell will trap an opponent in a force field making them unable to leave. It is required for a special powder to be thrown at the intended target or on the ground in front of them and an incantation to be spoken. However, the powder is not always needed, as the spell can be cast if two of the sisters hold hands while chanting the incantation, unless all three sisters are present and say the spell without having to touch.
History[]
In "Deconstructing Harry", the Vera-Vaughn sisters used this spell for the first time on Abigael Jameson-Caine to prevent her from leaving the Command Center, trapping her within a force field.
In "The Truth about Kat and Dogs", Abigael was shown to be contained by the spell and was later released by Harry Greenwood.
In "Needs to Know", TBA
In "Don't Look Back in Anger", the Vera-Vaughn sisters used the spell on an amnesiac Harry when he attempted to leave the attic of Vera Manor. Macy Vaughn later used the reversal spell to prepare to perform a memory restoration spell.
In "An Inconvenient Truth", Macy contained Julian Shea using the spell.
In "Bruja-Ha", Mel Vera used the spell in order to trap the Perfecti in the Command Center. Although contained, Mo still managed to breach the spell to read Harry's mind and "borrow" his powers.
In "What to Expect When You're Expecting the Apocalypse", Macy and Maggie Vera used the spell to contain those infected by the Whispering Evil within SafeSpace, Seattle.
In "The Tallyman Cometh", after recieving a mysterious package from the Tallyman, Mel, Maggie, and Kaela Danso contained it with this spell in case it held something dangerous. When Mel and Kaela determined the package to be harmless, they reversed the spell. Later on, Mel used the spell to contain a Patient Spider that was about to blow up to contain the explosion.
In "Be Kind. Rewind.", Inara took to carrying a bracelet that held charms containing the required powder for this spell in order to quickly and easily use it in case she encountered problems in her new world order, and wound up casting the spell on Jordan Chase to contain him. Later, Jordan smashed one of the charms at Inara's feet, allowing Kaela Danso to cast the spell and contain them both. However, Inara was able to blast her way out of the field after a few minutes.

Trivia[]
- In the original series, on multiple occasions, the sisters used crystals placed in a circle to trap their enemies, creating a cage-like force field around them similar to the Veras' containment spell.
- Unlike this spell, the force field in the original series could shock the beings inside with electricity if they tried to escape or if the sisters threw some potion to torture them.
- The Halliwells' crystal cage could be disrupted if one of the five crystals was moved, meaning beings with high pain tolerance could push through the cage, or overloaded by a significant amount of power. This containment spell, however, seems mostly to be disabled by only its counter-spell, until Inara proved able to shatter the field with her Electrokinesis - though this took a steady blast of immense electrokinetic power for a few minutes to accomplish. It is currently unclear how she was able to disempower the containment field or if anyone else could overpower the field with just their power.
- It is unknown how Harry released Abigael in "The Truth about Kat and Dogs", as it happened off-screen.
- It is currently unknown if any other witches, besides the Charmed Ones, are capable of casting this spell as the spell has only ever been shown to be cast by the Vera-Vaughn-Danso sisterhood and Inara.
- The exact origin of this spell is currently unknown. Initially, it was believed that the spell had been created by the Vera-Vaughn sisters. However, the spell was also later used by Inara. This creates two possibilities: the spell is either able to be cast by only Charmed Ones or the spell is accessed through knowledge obtained from the Command Center. The first possibility would explain why the spell was never shown being cast by any other witches aside from Charmed Ones. On the other hand, the second possibility would explain why the Vera-Vaughn sisters began using the spell only after being relocated to Seattle and gaining access to the Command Center, why the required powder is seemingly acquired from the Command Center and why Inara began utilizing the spell after remaking the world and having taken over the Command Center.
