The Origin Dagger is a magical dagger that can be used to take control of the Sacred Flame/The Source of All Evil and can also be used to transform a being into a vessel for the ancient power.
Overview[]
The Origin Dagger has a wide blade with demonic runes carved on it as well as horns separating the blade from the handle.
History[]
The dagger was once hidden within a corpse in a catacomb with its location buried inside the mind of Whitelighter, Harry Greenwood, by the witch Fiona Callahan at some point.
In "Source Material", Fiona held Harry captive in an attempt to use him to get the dagger, so she could use it to destroy magic. Fiona's plan ultimately failed when she was chased from the crypt by the Vera-Vaughn Charmed Ones. However, the dagger was later found by the powerful demon Alastor who used it on his half-demon son, Parker Caine, to trigger his transformation into a vessel for the Source of All Evil.
In "Red Rain", the dagger was telekinetically yanked out of Parker by the demon-witch Macy Vaughn who then absorbed it into herself. With this, she was able to take on the power of the Source.
Trivia[]
- It is currently unknown what happened to the blade after the Charmed Ones removed the Source from Macy. It could still be held within Macy or it could have been placed elsewhere offscreen. A third possibility was it ceased to exist the moment Macy became the Source.
- Although it has never been mentioned, there is a hint that absorbing the dagger by a semi-demonic being inside itself can stabilize its two halves in some aspects. Parker, after a temporary absorption, seems to have stopped suffering from his illness when his demonic half attacked his human half. After the takeover, Macy also stopped suffering from the "effect of black eyes", bouts of aggression and a constant obsession with power and Priyanka Bari's Needles.
