- "The CM901 offers solid stats across the board, performing well in many situations but exceeding in none. Damage output and effective range sit on the higher end, while mobility and accuracy take a minor hit with a heavier frame and a sharp kick through continuous fire."
- — Call of Duty ELITE description
The CM901 is an assault rifle featured in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. The weapon was first seen in the Special Ops reveal trailer.
Multiplayer[]
The CM901 is not available in campaign. In multiplayer it is unlocked at level 18.
At any range short of twenty meters, the CM901 will deal 49 damage per bullet, needing three shots to kill. Damage decreases linearly until 47.5 meters. At any range past 47.5 meters, the CM901 will deal 25 damage per bullet, needing four shots to kill. The CM901 has a three shot kill range of 37 meters. In Hardcore, the CM901 has a one shot kill range of roughly 41 meters. The CM901 deals 40% extra damage on a headshot. This can reduce the number of shots needed to kill by one at any range, although multiple headshots will be required at ranges where the CM901 is dealing less than thirty damage per bullet. A headshot is a guaranteed kill at any range in Hardcore. The CM901 has medium penetration power.
The CM901 fires fully automatically, with a fire rate of 666 RPM.
The CM901 has recoil values of 60 to the left, 60 to the right, 65 upwards, and 60 downwards. The CM901 has a centerspeed value of 1450.
The CM901 allows users to move at 90% of the base movement speed, or strafe at 36% of the base speed. The CM901 allows users to aim down the sight in 300 milliseconds, and the CM901's hip-fire spread is average. The CM901's reload animation is 2.33 seconds long, or 2.7 seconds long on an empty magazine. In either case, the user can Reload Cancel the CM901 after 1.6 seconds.
The CM901 has a magazine capacity of thirty rounds, and a starting ammo loadout of ninety rounds.
The CM901 has the usual assortment of assault rifle attachments and weapon proficiencies on offer. Most attachments work as expected on the CM901 and all proficiencies work as expected on the CM901. However, the underbarrel attachments will unintentionally modify the CM901 on specific versions of the game.
When the user has the Grenade Launcher or Masterkey Shotgun equipped on the CM901, and is playing the game on the Wii version or an unpatched version of Modern Warfare 3, the CM901's rate of fire increases to 759 RPM. This is an unintended effect that was patched out of future versions of Modern Warfare 3 multiplayer, but said patch was never applied to the Wii version.
Survival Mode[]
The CM901 is available in Survival Mode at level 43 and costs $3000. Its high damage can be very effective in the later rounds against Juggernauts and heavy infantry. Due to its high recoil, the CM901 should not be rapid fired unless using ACOG when engaging with enemies further than 100m. It is not used by any enemies. It is singlehandedly the most effective against Helicopters, Juggernauts and Suicide Bombers, outclassing even the ACR in eliminating high health or low health enemies. Unfortunately, the CM901 is slightly worse off against waves due to it's reload speed, but this can be countered by sleight of hand.

Trivia[]
- The Colt logo is visible on the right side of the back of the charging handle.
- The third-person model and the pickup icon of the CM901 has a grip, while the first-person model does not.
- In the Dew XP promotion, it says Price's main weapons are the CM901 and MSR, despite never using them in-game.
- When respawning with a Hybrid Sight, the character might flick the zoom away, then bring it back up instantly.
- The CM901 also has a slightly oversized bolt release paddle, which is a common aftermarket attachment of guns similar to the platform. This expands the area which the bolt release covers which allows for the user to not have to be so accurate when utilizing the bolt release.
- Also, when the CM901 is equipped with an underbarrel shotgun, the empty reload "cocking" sound is silent.
- Although, when switching to the CM901 w/shotgun a cocking sound can be heard for no reason.
- Its Create-A-Class icon shows the iron sights folded down.
- The CM901's rear sight is sighted for 500 yards.
