Gaeric (Japanese: ハマレンゲ Hamarenge) is a warden tasked with watching over the noble Avalugg, Lord of the Tundra, in the Alabaster Icelands of Hisui. He is a member of the Pearl Clan. He specializes in Ice-type Pokémon.

He bears some resemblance to Wulfric, sporting a similar pompadour, but the relationship between the two, if any, is unknown.

In the core series games

Gaeric has a tall, muscular physique, and is known for his routine muscle training in Hisui's snowy regions. Irida admires Gaeric and considers him a mentor figure;[1] in the Japanese version of the game, Irida calls him ハマ先生 Hama-sensei.[2]

Gaeric is first introduced to the player at Avalugg's Legacy in the Alabaster Icelands. Gaeric is reluctant to let the player attempt to quell Lord Avalugg's frenzy, as he does not see the harm in Avalugg being strengthened by his frenzy, believing Avalugg will do no harm to others. He agrees to go along with the player's will if the player can prove their strength in battle.

Pokémon

Like most members of the Pearl Clan, Gaeric does not keep his Pokémon in a Poké Ball and will send them all out at once against the player.
