The Energy Root (Japanese: ちからのねっこ Energy Root ) is a type of medicine introduced in Generation II . It is a type of herbal medicine that restores a Pokémon's HP .

Pokémon the Series
In A Rush of Ninja Wisdom! , Sanpei offered a pill made out of Energy Root to Ash after his Froakie had lost to him in battle . The remedy proved to be instantly effective, although Froakie greatly disliked the bitter taste.

Energy Root
The Energy Root was released as a Pokémon Tool Trainer card in the Pokémon Trading Card Game during the English EX Series (the Japanese PCG Era) in the EX Unseen Forces expansion. The card has never been reprinted. It features an illustration by Ryo Ueda .
The Pokémon this card is attached to gains 20 additional HP but cannot use any Poké-Powers or Poké-Bodies .
