Asimetrična bis(5'-nukleozil)-tetrafosfataza je enzim koji je kod ljudi kodiran genom NUDT2.[5][6][7]

Funkcija
[uredi | uredi izvor]Ovaj gen kodira člana porodice MutT nukleotidnih pirofosfataza, podskup veće porodice NUDIX hidrolaza. Genski proizvod posjeduje modifikaciju motiva sekvence MutT, koja se nalazi u određenim nukleotidnim pirofosfatazama. Enzim asimetrično hidrolizira Ap4A, dajući AMP i ATP i odgovoran je za održavanje unutarćelijskog nivoa dinukleotida Ap4A, čija funkcija tek treba biti uspostavljena. Ovaj gen može biti kandidat za supresora tumora. Na ovom mjestu uočena je alternativna prerada i identificirane su tri varijante transkripta, od kojih sve kodiraju isti protein.[7]
