Outriders is a Marvel Super Heroes minifigure that was first released in 2018.
Background[]
Comics[]
The Outriders is a race of genetically engineered humanoid creatures with the purpose of serving their maker until they die.
Thanos used Outriders to find new planets inhabited by weak species he would raze. Upon finding a new world, an Outrider would report to Corvus Glaive, who would arrive to that planet alongside Thanos' Black Order and demand a tribute for Thanos. If the inhabitants refused, that world would be annihilated.
After finding a new planet called Ahl-Agullo, one Outrider was tasked by Glaive to continue with his mission. He found Earth and gathered different information about the situation of this world using his telepathy on numerous important inhabitants such as Inhuman king Black Bolt, who ripped off one of his four arms after discovering him. However, he was still able to get away. When he relayed back the information to Thanos, Corvus gave him his reward; death.
Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU)[]
The Outriders is a four-armed race that was being used by Thanos as henchmen. They were first sent out in dropships to invade Wakanda, where they battled alongside Thanos’ Black Order, comprised of Cull Obsidian, Proxima Midnight and Corvus Glaive.
They started off by battling Captain America, Bruce Banner in the Hulkbuster, Black Widow, War Machine, Falcon, Black Panther, Bucky Barnes and Okoye as well as the entire Wakandan fleet. The fight was going in their favor until they were interrupted by Thor, Rocket Raccoon and Groot, which turned the tide of the battle. As Thanos arrived at Wakanda to steal the Mind Stone from Vision, the Avengers left to defend him, leaving the Outriders to fight the Wakandan fleet. From here, they were presumably all killed.
The Outriders returned when a time travelling Thanos from 2014 brought his fleet back from the past. The Outriders served him alongside the Chitauri during the Battle of Earth, though they were eventually killed by Iron Man, who used the Nano Gauntlet to kill all of Thanos’ forces at the cost of his own life.
