- "Lizards eat bugs, you know, Spider-Man."
- ―Lizard in LEGO Marvel Super Heroes
The Lizard, also known as Curt Connors, is a Marvel Super Heroes minifigure. Originally appearing in the LEGO Marvel Super Heroes video games, he made his debut as a physical minifigure in 2024.
Description[]
In the video games, the Lizard is a big-fig. He is based somewhat on his appearance in the 1990s Spider-Man TV series. He wears a white lab coat over purple pants and a black shirt. In addition, his green scales, long tail, and head are similar to the Velociraptors from the Dino and Jurassic World themes.
In 76280 Spider-Man vs. Sandman: Final Battle, the Lizard is an olive green minifigure with reptilian scales printed on his torso, hip, and legs; claws printed on his feet; and green eyes and a toothy grin printed on his face. He has a tail accessory.
Background[]
Dr. Curt Connors was a Floridian scientist who lost his right-arm while serving for the US military. Curt was a family-man who was obsessed with getting back his lost limb, resulting in him beginning to study how to splice human DNA with that of a reptile since some reptiles could regenerate their limbs.
Eventually, Curt learned how to properly splice the genetics but in addition to regrowing his arm, the results transformed Curt into a giant lizard/human hybrid. Taking on the moniker of "The Lizard", Curt lost control and became a super-villain who used his powers and ability to communicate with reptiles to try turning other humans into creatures like him. Lizard became an enemy of Spider-Man who eventually cured the doctor, with Curt becoming a recurring ally to him despite sometimes losing control and falling back into villainy.
