Ice Peak is a location in Breath of Fire IV which serves as one of the game's many dungeons. Fierce winds and snowstorms soar around this monster-infested, inhospitable peak. The frost is so fierce that even waterfalls freeze over. Snowballs need to be used by travelers to bridge gaps of ledges as bridges are not found in such altitude. At the lower section of the mountain, rafts can be used as means of transport to travel from this area to the nearby village of Chek.

Role in Breath of Fire IV[]

The party must travel through Ice Peak in order to reach Chek. After using the gondola to escape from Pung'tap, the party crashes atop an icy mountain, and as a result must head down the mountain side in order to reach civilisation.

Cray's strength proves invaluable as the party makes their way down this remote mountain area, covering crevices with makeshift snowball bridges. As they finally reach the lower levels of the mountain, Ryu and the others decide to build a raft to travel further to the village of Chek. This leads to the player participating in the Rafting minigame, which must be successfully completed at least once before the game can continue. If the rafter is destroyed, the player will need to begin the minigame over.
