– Wreckingbolt before turning into Hot Shot.[1] |
Hot Shot is the Antitrix's cross-contaminated DNA sample of a Pyronite[note 1] and Kevin's equivalent to Heatblast.
Appearance[]
While virtually identical to Heatblast, Hot Shot is greatly similar to punk rock culture. His rocky body, with his internal structure still made of reddish orange magma, is olive green and covers his torso and lower legs while his fiery arms are exposed. He stands taller than his normal counterpart and is muscular. His head is brown with additional fangs and four spikes positioned in the center, resembling a Mohawk, supported by a dome of fire. His legs and hands are enveloped by red crusts, giving them something akin to fingerless gloves and kneecaps. His hands have five fingers. Much like Heatblast, his feet have the same oval design, with only two toes.
While under the influence of Charmcaster, Hot Shot's flames were purple.
The Antitrix symbol is located on his collarbone.
Powers and Abilities[]
Being a doppelganger of Heatblast, Hot Shot is a pyrokinetic, meaning he has the ability to generate and manipulate intense heat and fire from his body. He can form fire into any shape that he chooses,[2] commonly fireballs.[3] Thanks to his control over fire, Hot Shot is capable of absorbing it, including blue fire.[DR 3] His fire is strong enough to melt a rock slide, turning it into lava.[4]
Hot Shot's fire has many other applications, such as using it to enhance the power of his punches[2] and kicks,[5] forming a vortex of fire,[6] surfing on his flames,[7] or creating flaming "bombs",[6] which have all been demonstrated by Heatlast. Hot Shot can also breathe fire like a dragon,[3] which can sometimes come in the form of flaming burps.[8]
Hot Shot can shoot a calorific fire in a form of lasers with his two hands. These lasers can both be used to weld two things together[9] or cut through something.[10]
Hot Shot can infuse other things with his fire, such as a Petrosapien's constructs, to empower them.[11]
Since he is made of magma and rock, Hot Shot is fireproof, heat resistant, and invulnerable to magma. He is also resistant to the cold and ice-proof thanks to the heat he produces.[Playmates 2] Hot Shot's magma body allows him to pluck small pieces off of himself, which Heatblast likened to picking his nose.[12] Hot Shot's fiery nature also allows him to generate smoke[13] and burn or melt whatever touches him.[14] His mere touch is powerful enough to destroy a Mechanoid.[15] His firepower can be amplified, though he can easily burn out from doing so.[4]
Hot Shot is capable of high-speed flight by propelling himself forward.[3] As he ages, his flight becomes more natural, as he can ignite himself into a fireball and direct heatwaves away from his body.[11]
Heatblast possesses enhanced strength, being able combat Shock Rock, even when exhausted.[14] He is also durable enough to withstand being thrown against Queen Bee's transport,[1] and possesses enhanced acrobatics[5] and reflexes.[16] In addition to his flight, Hot Shot can jump to high up-places.[17]
Hot Shot has sharp teeth, being able to gnaw through Charmcaster's magical binds.[3]
Hot Shot can survive being underwater, despite being a fire-based alien.[18][19]
The light and heat of the molten core in Hot Shot's body are more intense than his normal fire, allowing him to illuminate in the shadows in a candle-like manner. His light is able to attract the attention of Exotic Moths.[12]
Weaknesses[]
Hot Shot's fire attacks can be useless against certain things, such as a meteorite.[3]
If exposed to enough water or fire extinguishing substance, Hot Shot's fire will be extinguished, though he can still heat up and reignite his fire in short amounts of time.[3] His flames can also be put out by strong gusts of wind, as demonstrated by Heatblast.[20]
Heatblast's flaming head and magma body can be a hinderance to him, prohibiting his use of objects typically designed with humans in mind, such as CDs.[14] If improperly controlled, his flames can also spread to undesired places, causing needless damage.[21][20]
Hot Shot cannot breathe in space.[DR 4]

Notes[]
- ↑ 1.0 1.1 Duncan Rouleau initially stated all transformations in the Antitrix were "cross-contaminated" with other species.[DR 1][DR 2] However, the crew was just told that they are just "special messed up Kevin versions (or "Kevin-ified" versions) of [Ben's] aliens."[KT 1][KT 2] The merchandise also used similar language, such as "Kev-ified" to describe Antitrix transformations.[Playmates 1] Kelly Turnbull interpreted Duncan's statements as meaning "they're all getting little bits of DNA sloshed together, not necessarily two aliens spliced directly together."[KT 2]
