Little Cottage

Some days I wake up and I just feel like fiddling... today's card is a good example of one of those times! After printing the image several times I went to work with a craft knife and sharp pair of scissors to cut out all the different little elements in the scene. Then I layered everything with foam tape to give the illusion of dimension. At the same time, and probably not surprisingly, I cured myself of the desire to fiddle!

New Release: Little Cottage

Ahhh, home. Is there really a better place in the whole world than your own home? For those of us who are lucky, it's filled with the people, animals and possessions that we love, it's a place of rest and comfort and it's where we return to celebrate all the special events in our life.

Little Cottage
Digital Stamp Set

Let's see what my fabulous designers have been up to...

Petra has made this wonderful shaped card using nesting dies.
Don't you just love all the hints of blue?

Carla has gone pink and pretty with her card. Some gorgeous lacy
borders and sweet picket fences add a touch of charm.

Judy's card is warm and inviting. The gingham style paper in the
background is homey and comfortable.

AJ has finished her card with a sunny yellow ribbon. She coloured
the image with soft, pretty watercolours.

Karen has created a clever pocket card using the little cottage
as a holder for a handmade tag. Would be great for a gift card too!

Anesha made a fabulous wall hanging to give to a friend. Wouldn't
it look fantastic hanging on the wall of a new house?

Scrap Card #7

I started with a green and brown scrap base today, which led me to think of trees, forests and scenery... the perfect foundation for some gorgeous Stampscapes stamps!  I finished off my card with some little Tim Holtz alphas and a double knot of hemp twine.

Day 29 - Digital Images

It's probably not a surprise that digital stamps make my list, but I know I'm not alone in loving them.  They are versatile, inexpensive and come in a huge range that covers every possible card-making occasion, recipient, and theme.  They can be resized, flipped, digitally coloured, printed and merged... the freedom of digitals, and the ease of storage, is what really makes them popular with card makers.

YOUR TURN: Grab your favourite Christmas digital stamp and make a card.

One last card...

The Card Camp challenge this week was to make a Christmas card that contained no red or green in the design. I used this little house again, coloured with distress ink and a water brush. The circle frame was cut with a Nestie and the pine needles around it were cut with a Martha Stewart punch.

To all those readers who asked about this digital image - I'm just in the process of cleaning it up and will have it up for you to use tomorrow.

August Christmas Cards

My Christmas card stash is growing nicely thanks to the monthly challenges at Christmas Cards All Year Round. I've been keeping up with my five cards, and every now and then I even manage six or seven!
