|
Pen is a male contestant in Battle for Dream Island, Battle for BFDI, and Battle for Dream Island: The Power of Two.

In Battle for Dream Island Again, Pen had a chance to join at the start of the season but he only received 285 votes which was not enough and so he was sent to the Tiny Loser Chamber. He placed 25th to join the season.
In IDFB, Pen is currently in the Tiny Loser Chamber due to failing to join BFDIA. He's had a chance to join the season and received 2,426 votes[2], which is not enough, placing him 2nd to join the season.
In Battle for BFDI, Pen competed on Death P.A.C.T. until the split in "The Escape from Four" where he left the show to compete on Two's show.
In Battle for Dream Island: The Power of Two, Pen competed on Are You Okay until the team swap in "What's Up Bell's String?" where he was instead put on by One.

Appearance[]
Pen is a generic capped ballpoint pen. His body is slim and white, and his cap is a light blue color. Despite his blue cap, his ink appears to be black or indigo.[BFB4] In early BFDI, his rear shading and bottom were curved, but later on they became straight.

Designs[]
Personality[]
BFDI[]
Pen is generally kinder and more considerate than his friends, which makes him stand out for his politeness and gratitude. An example of this is in "Return of the Hang Glider", when Firey allows Pen and his three friends into Dream Island, Pen is the only one who thanks him. A more subtle example is whenever the eliminated contestants voted for anyone but Leafy to win Dream Island, Pen is the only one out of his friends who didn't slap them for it.
Pen has also shown himself to be a bit dimwitted, however. One example of this can be seen in "Sweet Tooth" when he thought 8 dollars could buy two 5 dollar cakes.
BFB[]
Pen appears to be a lot more competitive, outgoing and hard-working, and he is a lot more active within his team. A large portion of Pen's screen time in BFB was competing in challenges. His greater participation in challenges may be due to his lack of interaction with the other former "cool" characters, as they were separated when the teams were being formed.
Pen has also shown himself to be a bit naive. He also didn't realize that Tree being stuck inside Bottle would give their team a disadvantage in "This Episode Is About Basketball". Pen proceeds to yell at Tree for not being able to toss the balls well. When Pie brings up the fact that there may be another solution, Pen throws the balls into Black Hole, in hopes of getting them into the basket.
TPOT[]
Pen is a kind, empathetic, and loyal character, contrasting with his more aggressive or indifferent peers. He shows his caring nature by helping Rubber Spatula feel better about being the least voted to join and encourages a positive outlook. While competitive and playful, Pen sometimes acts impulsively, such as during his rivalry with Needle in "What's Up Bell's String?". His emotional side is revealed when he is distressed by Needle and Eraser’s eliminations in "Category One" and “I SAID CAREFUL!!!” respectively, highlighting the importance of his friendships. Pen thrives in supportive environments, and his adaptability, willingness to collaborate, and deep emotional connections underscore his dedication to teamwork and loyalty.
Abilities[]
Strengths[]
- Speed: While Pen is not as fast as Needle or Firey, he shows himself to be somewhat fast, as shown in the ladder climbing challenge when Pen was able to win 1st place. He's also able to briefly run faster than Needle in TPOT 12.
- Drawing: Being a pen, Pen can draw with his head and is surprisingly good, though Four would say otherwise.
- Climbing: Pen is able to get 1st place in "A Leg Up in the Race" and is able to climb a tower of blocks whilst able keep on to it using his legs and feet in "The Worst Day of Black Hole's Life".
- Strategization: Despite being dimwitted at times, Pen can be pretty good at strategizing, such as tricking Four into screeching his team inside them, tricking Black Hole to stop him from sucking his other team's blocks and using Golf Ball's shrink-a-tron to get the dream berry.
- Blowing wind far: Pen won 1st place for Death P.A.C.T. in "Getting Teardrop to Talk" after blowing X's basket toward him from a really far distance.
Official Character Guide biography[]
Pen is BFDI's coolest character. He's a ballpoint pen with blue ink. When an easy shortcut presents itself, Pen knows how to take it. However, he and Tree sometimes have to ask Black Hole for help. His best friend is Eraser. Blocky is friends with both.
Despite his problem-solving skills, Pen's empty promises put him in a debt worth more than 6,398 quindecillion times the price of the world.
Did You Know?: Pen gets jealous every time he sees Pencil erase something she wrote.

Battle for Dream Island[]
In "Take The Plunge: Part 1", after Woody screams loudly, Pen and Eraser comment on how Woody isn't cool. He later appears with Snowball, Blocky, and Eraser. During the contest, he just stands on the beam until Ice Cube knocks him over, making him lose.
In "Take the Plunge: Part 2", Pen is picked onto the Squishy Cherries team by Match and Pin. He then chooses Blocky to be on the team. Later, he, Pencil, and Match are used as the "oars" for the team boat. He points out that the finish line is only "20 or so yards away". When Ice Cube is about to win for the Grapes, Pen knocks her away, allowing the Cherries to win the first contest.
In "Barriers and Pitfalls", during the contest, Pen, along with Eraser, Pencil, and Spongy, go to rescue Blocky. When Pencil sings to the Fish Monster, it grabs her. Later, Pen, Eraser, and Blocky try to pull Pencil out. He loses again because Tennis Ball causes Pin to fall off the wall and he gets hit and flung away. In the end, the Cherries were up for elimination.
In "Are You Smarter Than a Snowball?", at Cake at Stake, Pen only has one elimination vote. Pen also calls Blocky being safe at two votes and is right. During the contest, Pen follows Blocky's lead in using the answer key to cheat on the test. The Announcer discovers this and sets their scores to 0, bringing their team to lose the challenge as a result.
In "Sweet Tooth", when Blocky is eliminated, Pen is in shock because Blocky is a "great guy" and his friend. During the challenge, Eraser and Pen spot Leafy making a huge vat of cake batter, which she agrees to share with Eraser and Pen for $5 each. Eraser has no money, so Pen decides to pay with $8, to Leafy's anger. Pen soon finds a $1.99 bill on the ground, ending up one penny short; Pen and Eraser then use Coiny to reach $10. Pen ends up with 17 points, but the Cherries lose the challenge.
In "Bridge Crossing", with zero votes, Pen is safe. Pen notices that the Announcer has been saying "The TLC" and asks if it's an object. The Tiny Loser Chamber is then shown for the first time. During the challenge, he finds an extra bridge. Pen tries to motivate Eraser to climb the rope railings of the broken bridge by asking if he wants to win Dream Island, adding that he himself does, and further noting that upon winning he intends to install a sign in front labeling it "Pen Island" -- "No spaces, all caps!". He later falls off when Eraser discovers that the rails are only black bendy straws taped together. Pen then falls down the gorge, screaming. In the stinger, Pen tells Match that golf balls sink.
In "Power of Three", Pen is almost eliminated at three votes. If Pin had used her Win Token, he would've been eliminated. He is put on a team with Eraser and Firey. For a long time, their team is in last place because Firey died; however, they are the first ones to find the real key, so all three of them earn Win Tokens. In the stinger ending, Pen is surprised that they are all still in the air after being flung by the spring.
In "Puzzling Mysteries", before the intro, Pen is able to spin a basketball on his fingertips. Pen is one of the Squishy Cherries who can be chosen by the Grapes to switch teams, but he is not chosen. At the end of the episode, Pen finally finds two pieces that fit together. In "Cycle of Life", Pen tells the Announcer that his team finally solved the jigsaw puzzle and were released. Amid several amendments to make the challenge fair, Pen points out that it isn't fair that the Squashy Grapes can pick their best runners while they can't. Before the contest starts, Pen expresses his disappointment in there not being an elimination again, saying it adds anticipation and self-preservation. In the competition, Eraser has to carry Pen, and Pen has to carry Pencil. Once again, their team loses.
In "Insectophobe's Nightmare", Pen spends the entire six-legged race getting dragged on the ground, hitting a tree along the way. His team manages to win in the end.
In "Crybaby!", of the two highest-voted Grapes, Pen chooses Snowball to join the Cherries, which he ends up doing. After the results of the ski contest, Pen says "Aw, seriously?" when another tiebreaker must be performed. During the handstand contest, he fails to stand as he slips on Rocky's vomit, but they still win thanks to Eraser.
In "Lofty", in what ends up being a unanimous vote of the two highest-voted Names, Pen chooses Rocky over Golf Ball on the basis that Golf Ball "sounds like a boy, even though she's a girl". Pen encourages the Announcer to do a magic trick, and during the challenge, he accidentally pops Bubble by tightening her string. Later on, his balloon, along with Match's, is popped thanks to Leafy's nail.
In "A Leg Up in the Race", Pen places first in the contest. He ends up with 71 points, placing first overall. He is safe from elimination.
In "Don't Lose Your Marbles", Pen spends most of the episode holding an apple until he spots a red ball hanging from the sky. He's the ninth contestant to bring back a ball and gets 3 points.
In "Half a Loaf Is Better Than None", Pen is dared by Eraser to jump over a small pit, Pen jumps it and states it was the easiest thing he's ever done. Eraser tries to do the same thing but almost falls and calls Pen out to save him. Pen calls out to Blocky and they all end up falling off. At one point, Pen says "Which is?", which angers Eraser since that's his line. Pen only manages to jump one hurdle in the contest, along with Firey.
In "Vomitaco", Pen is at one point shown getting covered in the vomit leaking from the giant barf bag. Pen joins the taco-making contest, where he cheats for the third time in the series, and in the same way as in "Sweet Tooth" only without Eraser since he was eliminated. Leafy gets 6 likes for her taco, but Pen receives half as many, despite using the same taco. Pen ends up in the danger zone.
In "Bowling, Now with Explosions!", Pen is a part of the puppet section of the episode that ends up being an April Fools prank with Leafy, Pencil, Spongy, and Blocky. Pen is eliminated with 144 votes. He placed 12th overall.
In "Reveal Novum", Pen is surprised to learn that the Announcer can hear everything they say from inside the TLC. Pen suggests that all of the eliminated contestants just push against one side of the TLC, that way they can just walk right out. When the contestants are close to drowning due to the TLC filling with water, Pen notices a light, which turns out to be the sun.
In "Gardening Hero", Pen tells the viewers that if they vote for him, he'll give them 500 million vigintillion dollars.
In "The Glistening", Pen votes Ice Cube to be eliminated. Pen only gets 32 votes, along with Eraser, and doesn't rejoin. Before he's teleported, Pen names all of the viewers who voted for him to rejoin and promises to eventually pay them the money he promised.
In "Insectophobe's Nightmare 2", Pen comes the conclusion that if BFDI is cancelled then they should all be released from the TLC. Instead, they're all eaten by bugs.
In "Return of the Hang Glider", Eraser asks Pen what would happen if they took the first spoken word of the first episode to the 25th word of the 25th episode. Pen guesses that it would probably translate to nothing. After he's released, Pen votes for Leafy to win. Pen seems to be the only one who's seriously concerned with how none of them are getting Dream Island. Pen tries to talk Flower out of destroying the recovery centers but she doesn't listen. He later is in support of Leafy getting the death penalty for stealing Dream Island.
Battle for Dream Island Again[]
In "Yeah, Who? I Wanna Know", Pen is one of the characters seen chasing after Leafy. When they are in the forest, Pen says that Leafy went through the top row, but Pencil interrupts him, pulling out a Leafy Detector and saying, "Why prospect, when you can detect?" Later, with only 285 votes to join, just one place away from being in BFDIA, he is one of the characters who does not join and is flung to the TLC.
In "Well, Look Who It Is!", Pen is seen inside the LOL. When Donut notices something happening outside, he asks what's going on, and Pen reassures him that it can't be that bad. However, when Pen takes a look for himself, he sees Coiny trying to bring a glitching Pin out of the hole and insists that they need to leave immediately. Snowball then takes Fanny's fan, attaches it to the top of the LOL, and various characters, including Pen, start cranking the lever. As the LOL flies away, Pen sighs in relief. Later, Pen warns everyone about a rapidly approaching laser. They try to dodge it, but the laser hits them anyway, and on impact, everyone's appearances are significantly enhanced, with some changes being more noticeable than others.
In "PointyPointyPointy ♫", Pen doesn't have any lines, but he is seen cranking the LOL with Eraser at the start of the episode and makes several cameo appearances in the LOL throughout.
In "Spore Day", Pen tells Needle, Tennis Ball and Bomby that their team name is called The Quasi-Rhombicosidodecahedrons.
In "Respect to the Wicked", Pen does not have lines due to Balloony taping his mouth shut.
IDFB[]
In "Welcome Back", Pen is only seen briefly inside the TLC where he is waving at the camera with a crazed grin on his face as Coiny lists him as someone they should free. He is given a chance to join the game, along with the other characters in the TLC.
Battle for BFDI[]
In "Getting Teardrop to Talk", Pen is the first character seen in the season, excited to show Eraser his rectangle, but not before tripping over Rocky. After being told by Eraser that he is instead holding a parallelogram, he shows him a pentagon, which Eraser finds scary. Pen doesn't think it's scary at first, but is then scared by it. He cries for Blocky to help them, which he does by cutting the pentagon to a quadrilateral and a triangle using Saw.
Pen is the last contestant to be chosen for a team, ending up on Death P.A.C.T., despite wanting to be with Eraser and Blocky, as they both joined different teams that had one space left. He also wins the challenge first by simply blowing the basket to X.
In "Lick Your Way to Freedom", Pen is with his team searching the jawbreakers for a contestant. When Bottle claims a jawbreaker is empty, Pen corrects her, saying Foldy is inside. His team is declared safe.
In "Why Would You Do This on a Swingset", Pen is seen standing next to Bottle. Bottle says she's excited to start preventing death, and Gelatin then throws a fork that hits Pen, knocking him into Black Hole. Pen is later recovered and joins his team on their swing.
In "Today's Very Special Episode", after Four tells everyone the next challenge, Pen begins to ask Black Hole if he could draw but is interrupted by Tree, who berates Pen for relying on Black Hole to do challenges.
Later, he is seen protecting Four from the forks, and he asks his teammates what they are going to do. They come up with the idea of calling Black Hole to absorb the forks. After trying, Remote says that Black Holes don't have a good sense of hearing, and Pillow says to go tell him and that she will stay to stop the forks. Pen tells her that it only takes one person to go and tell Black Hole, but Pillow interrupts him saying that if one leaves, they will all face a painful death. After a while of arguing, Pen and his teammates go to tell Black Hole.
After asking him, Black Hole goes to suck up the forks, and Pen is dedicated to drawing Four in the 5 seconds that he had left. After finishing it, it gets hit by a fork and flies away, but Bottle catches it. When Four does not know what to think about the drawing, Pen says it is the best so far, but then the recommended characters all come out, shouting angrily at him. His team loses, placing 8th in the worst to the best line.
In "Fortunate Ben", during Cake at Stake, Four says that Pen's drawing led them to their elimination. Pen gets mad at Four for saying that his drawing was bad and tells him to be nice, but Four screeches Pen. X then proceeds to say that Pen's drawing was a "disgrace" to the art community, advising him to never touch a piece of paper ever again. Pen says he'd rather get screeched at, and so Four does so, causing Pen to fall in a daze.
Pen is revealed to have the least votes, and X states that he is the first contestant with the fewest votes whose name doesn't start with a B, but Pen says that his legal name is actually 🅱️en. Pie then asks Pen what Pen's fortune is by using Pen's legal name in the question. Pen reads the fortune from the fortune cookie he received for being safe, which is about Ice Cube; Pie says that it's a weird fortune.
In "Four Goes Too Far", he and the other Death P.A.C.T. members close their eyes to avoid the Twinkle. However, Pen opens his to see what sound he is hearing, which appears to be Bubble and Match doing a staring contest while constantly passing the Twinkle, which they then pass to him. Pen attempts to give the Twinkle to Free Food, eventually giving it to Marker by running around them multiple times to find an opening.
In "The Liar Ball You Don't Want", Pen is seen heading towards 's crater with the Liar Ball, and because Robot Flower hacked Remote, Tennis Ball controls her with Robot Flower. Remote then stops Pen from going to the crater, which makes him ask what Remote is doing. Remote asks for help as she's being hacked, and Pen watches her horrified as she gains back control and begins sending a bomb. Pen is later seen with Pillow, who is pushing the Liar Ball at ABNTT's crater. At the end of the episode, after Remote finally puts the Liar Ball in the crater, Pen remarks that it feels good scoring a completely defenseless goal.
In "Questions Answered", Pen answers the first question Donut asks in the quiz correctly by saying "frooba dwooba", making his team the first safe.
In "This Episode Is About Basketball", Pen gets angry at Tree for not throwing the balls far, even though Tree is stuck in Bottle. When Pie says that there's a much simpler solution, Pen misinterprets her and throws the balls into Black Hole. Pen then gets frustrated and decides, along with the rest of Death P.A.C.T., to throw the balls himself, thus securing his team's safety.
In "Enter the Exit", he is stacked by Blocky, along with Needle and Match, to make a shape of Four in an attempt to bring Four back. The plan fails, however.
In "What Do You Think of Roleplay?", Pen talks with Eraser and Blocky about the competition so far. Pen mentions that he doesn't even know how "he got in there" (possibly referring to Tree and Bottle), followed by everyone laughing. Blocky mentions wanting to do another prank, but Pen declines to help because his team has a rule with preventing death. He then compliments Eraser on how tolerant he's been since he's on a team with Foldy and she looks like a pentagon. Later on in the episode, when Death P.A.C.T. finds the fake on their team, Pen smiles proudly before walking off.
In "Return of the Rocket Ship", Pen and Death P.A.C.T. run towards the Evil Canyon in search of X's treasure, but are stopped by Black Hole, who reminds them their mission is to prevent death, not cause death (as falling into the Evil Canyon's spikes means dying), and how Pillow had recently died. Pen flutters his arms in response, along with the rest of the team, disappointing Black Hole.
Pen compliments Pie when she stops, but Pie says that Pen was fluttering his arms too. Later, when Tree fails to open Four's mouth, Pen boldly tells Four that "five is greater than four", something which is rebutted with a screech, which Pen and his team block. Pen tells his team to jump in and they enter Four's mouth.
In "Don't Dig Straight Down", Pen and his four other teammates with arms reach out of Four's mouth to grab A Better Name Than That's emerald. Pen then emerges from Four's mouth, saying thank you for the emerald, and that he and his teammates with arms were reaching out to grab it. Then he goes back in. He is not seen for the rest of the episode.
In "The Four is Lava", Pen, Bottle, and Remote have fun sticking their arms out of Four's mouth and have Black Hole repeatedly swing them back up to it every time they are pushed off. Doing this too many times makes Four forcefully put his hand in his mouth, pushing Pen, Bottle and Remote off, not before Pen sees the door to EXIT and Pillow trying to enter it. Four pulls the entire team out of his mouth, which also makes Death P.A.C.T. safe from elimination.
In "The Escape from Four", Pen can at first be seen following Snowball and the crew to see Four actually struggling to do something. He then tries to help pull the eliminated contestants out of Four. He later ends up quitting BFB to join The Power of Two.
Battle for BFB[]
In "X Marks the Spot", Pen is in the crowd of contestants who gasp over X getting lassoed by the Four Colored Team.
In "Uprooting Everything", Pen appears at the beginning of the episode to advertise Firey, Pen, Leafy, and Firey Jr. plushes.
Battle for Dream Island: The Power of Two[]
In "You Know Those Buttons Don't Do Anything, Right?", when Rubber Spatula feels that nobody likes them since they got the least votes to join, Pen makes them feel better by pointing out that over a hundred people still thought they were the best choice. Pen then places TV down, who is displaying Rubber Spatula's votes, so Rubber Spatula can personally thank their voters.
During the making of teams, Pen spots Eraser on another team and nervously tries to decline being on Death P.A.C.T again. Pie is annoyed at this as she feels he's betraying the team's mission. Pen tries to explain himself but ultimately gives up and rushes over to be with Eraser. The two high-five, finally getting to be on the same team again. Pen then asks where Blocky is and Eraser says he left them. Pen isn't sure what he means, so Fries explains that Blocky stayed behind with Four. When Pen's old team is named Death P.A.C.T. Again, he wants to have the same name, thinking it sounds awesome. Golf Ball points out to him that the other team already has that name and that they should be named something else before stopping herself.
Pen's team is named Are You Okay thanks to Tennis Ball. During the challenge, they try riding Puffball but she's too small, so they go with Tennis Ball's trebuchet. The trebuchet is used to fling Pen's team to the top of the building, but they fly over it and land in a tree, which flings them back into the trebuchet and so on. Puffball catches her teammates using Fries, and Pen's team is the first one safe.
In "The Worst Day of Black Hole's Life", Pen becomes shocked when Eraser got obliterated, so he asks Two if he can recover him. However, Two's new recovery center lands on Pen, killing him. Two recovers him, making Pen the first character to be recovered from the new recovery center. Pen was about to recover Eraser, but Tree pushes him aside to recover Bottle. As this happens, Pen waits impatiently for Tree to be done. Then, he recovers Eraser. During the challenge, Golf Ball demands another way of stacking, but Pen disagrees and tells her to help the team if she's "so good at stacking." Eraser gets bored, so he decides to knock down the other team's blocks. Pen tries to stop him, but Eraser replies with "What are they gonna do about it?" Pen stutters. Later, Black Hole is sucking up Are You Okay's stack.
Pen has an idea to stop him, which was to use Black Hole preventing death to his advantage. Pen gets near Black Hole to make him stop and come up with another plan. When Teardrop attempted to obliterate Marker, she accidentally obliterates Tennis Ball, making Pen shocked for him, until he gets accidentally obliterated too, despite him not being recovered, Are You Okay is declared safe.
In "Getting Puffball To Think About Rollercoasters", when the blocks that Two stacked up start to fall everywhere, Pen yells for everyone to save themselves. As he runs, he ends up slipping on Barf Bag's barf and gets crushed by some blocks. He is recovered after the intro. For the challenge, Pen grabs a block and runs into Golf Ball's underground factory where they get ready to build a rollercoaster for the amusement park. Later, Pen chants on TV for his tutorial on modifying blocks into chairs and further compliments him for going above and beyond instead of being mediocre. Once they're done, they head back to the park and upload the rollercoaster that Puffball imagined.
It ends up being more hazardous than expected, but Pen doesn't mind and adds the seats, saying a dangerous attraction is better than nothing. When the time comes for Two to try out the rollercoaster, Pen is one of the contestants who rides it with them. The ride ends up moving too fast and flies off the track, but everyone lands safely on Death P.A.C.T Again's trampoline. Are You Okay is given a 5/10, which is enough to not be up for elimination. Pen later ends up getting obliterated by a laser fired by Eraser as he was aiming for Teardrop.
In "Gardening Zero", Pen's team is sent to Davidland to protect their Funny Plant. His team is safe as they managed to keep their plant alive before two other teams had theirs killed. In the stinger however, Eraser comments on the David's odor, causing one of them to scream, snapping their plant in two.
In "Fishes and Dishes", Pen is first seen saying he likes the new pool, which Two says they got as one of the their attempts at reviving the funny plants. For the challenge, Pen goes with his team underwater to retrieve the five plates in breathable bubbles. When Golf Ball complains over losing her robotic fish, Pen tries to calm her down, but refuses to listen and hits Pen. In anger, Pen bounces Golf Ball back, but Tennis Ball in defense of Golf Ball bounces Pen, which causes all three of them to start bouncing infinitely into each other.
Pen and Golf Ball continue to bicker until Eraser shows up with two plates. After Golf Ball and Tennis Ball are eaten, Eraser and Pen swim back up to the surface, only to be stopped by Tree and Marker and have both of the plates stolen from them. They are then kicked into the depth of the Goiky Canal, where they collide into the Robotic Fish Monster. The explosion pushes both of them back to shore, along the remaining plate. Pen tells Eraser to hurry and give the plate to Two, but Eraser loses it to Coiny's magnet. Pen's team is up for elimination.
In "The Great Goikian Bake-Off", during the Cake at Stake ceremony, Pen is the first one safe with 6,866 votes. During the challenge, TV uses the advanced locator to track the nearest location of the Dream Berry required. Pen begins moving TV in the wrong direction, before being corrected, turning around and directing him the right way. Once at Golf Ball's Underground Factory, Golf Ball tells the "Arm-havers" to extract the Dream Berry from the tiny crack. To which, Pen refuses, telling her his or Eraser's arms won't fit in the singular crack. Pen shortly after pulls out the Shrink-a-Tron, Golf Ball warns Pen not to use it but Pen uses it to shrink the team anyways.
Pen, and the rest of his team, locks their limbs together in an attempt to grab the Dream Berry. But before they can reach it, a chocolate ball runs into them, making them fall into the crack. A bug crawls inside the crack for revenge, so the team quickly begins running out. Pen notices Death P.A.C.T. Again and they jump inside of Tree's head. Due to Tree's motion, the chocolate balls are bouncing everywhere, and the team tries to avoid getting crushed. Pen says that Golf Ball should not exclude Puffball. Golf Ball says that they shouldn't worry about that right now, saying that they should avoid the chocolate balls. Tree eventually shakes Are You Okay out of his head and onto Puffball, with Two turning them back into regular size. Pen's team is safe when Golf Ball gives Two the Dream Berry and eats it, they are awarded a 8/10 and are safe from elimination. In the stinger, Pen is zapped by X when he attempts to steal their food.
In "The Seven Wonders of Goiky", Pen is first seen saying that he'd like to use Two's limitless power to do cool stunts. He is then rained on by Teardrop when she takes the form of a cloud. For the challenge, Are You Okay is tasked with fixing the damaged volcano. Before they do anything, Pen and the rest of the team tell Golf Ball and Puffball to sit out of today's contest. Tennis Ball figures that they should glue the volcano shut before lava spreads in the surrounding area. TV drives everyone to Robot Flower's shop to find some glue. Eraser ends up getting some from Basketball and the team make their way back to the volcano. They meet up with Golf Ball and Puffball, who have golden arches from Just Not. They glue the arches to the exposed parts of the volcano, making them safe.
In "Balancing P.A.C.T.", Pen is in the group of contestants cheering for Donut to swallow the gumball. Later, in the challenge, when Tennis Ball is excluded from sabotaging, Pen allows Tennis Ball to hang out with him. Robot Flower pushes TV off, and Pen, along with Tennis Ball and Eraser are seen screaming. Pen runs to the end of the balance beam to find Teardrop.
When Team8s attacks, Tennis Ball uses Pen as a tool to hit Coiny off. Pen compliments Tennis Ball and Team8s is frightened, telling them they do not know where Teardrop is. When Tennis Ball states that Teardrop is immensely powerful and dangerous to target, Pen agrees with Tennis Ball while saying Erasers don't have "brains." Once Tennis Ball says in theory his plan is good, but only possible if they can weaken Teardrop.
Later, Pen is seen with Tennis Ball and Eraser, confronting Snowball on trying to eliminate Teardrop. Snowball protects Teardrop and states that they have to fight him and Grassy. Grassy fights Eraser, while Snowball fights Pen and Tennis Ball. Tennis Ball tells Pen to fall of the beam, pulling Snowball along. Him, Tennis Ball and Snowball fall off the beam. They cheer for Eraser and tell him his opportunity to eliminate Teardrop. Unfortunately, Eraser gets knocked off by Teardrop by tricking him, making Are You Okay up for elimination.
In "Outbreak At Stake", Pen is the second one to get infected, bitten by Barf Bag. Eraser takes Pen's cap and takes it with him into the hotel. Pen is seen trying to get inside the hotel, blocked by the boards. In the cake at stake, Pen is declared safe with 6,336 votes, with Eraser taking his cake and boarding up the window.
In the bottom 2, Pen bites Puffball, making her infected as well. After Puffball being eliminated, Pen climbs up with Barf Bag to the roof, infecting everyone on the roof. Pen follows the other zombies into the hotel and follows Are You Okay. After Are You Okay splits up, Pen breaks TV and sneaks behind Eraser, biting him. Golf Ball and Tennis Ball experiment with Pen's cap, with nothing working out. Later, Pen along with the other zombies corner Teardrop, making Teardrop fall into Barf Bag. Later, Pen along with Shampoo is slowly approaching the S! but the Gelatin's Steakhouse blocks them from approaching. Pen eats the vomit-affected steaks and gets revived. At the end, Pen gasps with Marker and Tennis Ball. Pen's team is safe, since Golf Ball and Tennis Ball survived the apocalypse.
In "Oneirophobe's Nightmare", Pen is shown arguing with the other contestants, then after Two telling everyone to quiet down, and explaining the challenge, Pen is shown in his nightmare, galloping towards a mailbox, getting mail that says that if he doesn't pay two hundred vigintillion dollars, he will be in jail for three trevigitillion years, he is shown panicking over it, while TV explains that they'll just earn the money in debt back, Pen is still panicking. Later, Are You Okay is shown selling burgers, making popcorn, duty for selling tickets for the movies, selling cars, working at nightclubs, and selling fish. After Golf Ball tells TV how much they've earnt, it is 800,000 dollars, saying that it's taking too long, until Golf Ball comes up with a new strategy, to murder him in order to win the challenge. Later, Are You Okay (except Pen) tries murdering him by poisoning Pen but made Golf Ball die instead since he made Golf Ball die, making a car that makes the steering wheel ripped off, but made Eraser get ran over, and TB and TV stabbing Pen, but since he jumped, causing them to die instead.
He is later sad that his friends died since they wanted the best of him, after he finds a fish that is worth five hundred vigintillion dollars but later dies due to the fish eating him. He is later panicking and upset that the work was for nothing, until Eraser gives him the debt, but instead as him giving money back, he gives Tennis Ball the debt, causing Eraser to be angry.
In "What's Up Bell's String?", Pen is placed onto a new team, later called , however he is separated from Eraser, which upsets him. He turns to Eraser, asking what they're going to do, and Eraser reassures him that they'll get through this, adding that he shouldn't worry. Pen vents to Bottle about being separated from his friend, and TV tells him not to worry because he and Tennis Ball are there for him. This prompts Pen to point out Tennis Ball's worried face and ask what's wrong with him. TV explains that it's the first time Tennis Ball and Golf Ball are on separate teams, and he tries to calm him down. Pen reassures him as well, noting their teammates' strengths: Bottle's silliness, Basketball's inventiveness, and his own physical capabilities.
However, Needle overhears this and retaliates by picking up Basketball and throwing her towards Golf Ball. Pen laughs at her efforts and throws Basketball onto Tennis Ball, sending her flying into the air, only for him to catch her safely upon landing. He remarks that was the easiest thing he's ever done, sparking a rivalry between them. Later, during the challenge, Tennis Ball notices Black Hole leaving with Marker and begs for someone to follow them. Pen assures him that he's on it, but Needle corrects him, insisting that she'll take care of it.
Pen and Needle both pursue Black Hole and Marker through the forest, with Pen throwing dirt at Needle and telling her to go away. Needle catches up to Pen, trips him, and then throws a nearby tree onto him. As Needle comments on the tree's size, Pen insists that he'll take it back to their team's pit, but Needle refuses to let him. They continue to fight over the tree until Marker falls in the middle and begs them to stop fighting. However, they ignore his request and continue to argue, each trying to claim the tree for their team's advantage. Subsequently, while they are still arguing over the tree, Black Hole arrives and prevents the situation from escalating further by using the David's soundwaves to send them flying into the air. He then catches them using his gravity and warns them to calm down to avoid provoking the David again, which reminds Pen of the time when he and his old team were in Davidland.
They arrive back at the grasslands, and Black Hole drops them on the ground. Pen and Needle both remain determined to move the tree and insist on taking it back to their team themselves. Marker begs them to stop fighting, adding that they would be unstoppable if they worked together. His intervention helps diffuse the tension, allowing Pen and Needle to reconsider their approach and focus on teamwork.
They agree to carry the tree back together and upon arrival, throw the tree into the pit. However, X's presence prevent the tree from going inside, and it instead falls into CloudYAY's pit. Pen confronts CloudYAY, informing them that their tree fell into the wrong pit and demands its return, but Pillow simply tells him to shut up. He and Needle then attack Barf Bag and Donut. As they fight, Barf Bag insists that they don't have time for this because they need to watch the hourglass, but Pen dismisses this concern. They continue to fight until Needle notices the moon rapidly approaching, which crushes them all on impact. Due to the lack of items in 's pit, they lose the challenge. After the contest, Pen is recovered, and is seen talking to Needle and Eraser.
In "Category One", Pen and Needle are out putting up missing posters for Basketball, Bell and Bomby. As they work, the wind begins to pick up, growing stronger by the minute. Golf Ball, noticing the change in weather, calls out to Pen and Needle, instructing them to get inside for safety. Before they can act, a tree is violently uprooted by the wind and slams into Needle, pinning her against a wall.
Golf Ball yells at Pen to hurry up and get inside, so Pen quickly frees Needle from the wall before they both rush indoors. Once inside, Two introduces their team, , to their newest team member, Liy. She greets Pen warmly, remarking that it's been a while since they last saw each other.
Later, the cake at stake ceremony begins, and the tension among the contestants is palpable. Pen is relieved when he is the second contestant declared safe with 19,780 votes, and he shares a celebratory high five with Needle. However, the atmosphere quickly shifts as Needle finds herself in the bottom two, which worries Pen. When the final votes are revealed, Needle is eliminated with 13,172 votes. She is shown to be saddened by the outcome, and Pen is visibly upset as well, clearly distressed by his friend's departure. Liy steps in to comfort Pen, reassuring him that she’ll be by his side moving forward.
The contest kicks off, and is assigned the task of protecting the hotel from the David. They group at Basketball's aboveground factory where Tennis Ball devises a strategy to handle the looming threat. Tennis Ball proposes that they destroy the David, but Pen interjects, suggesting that instead of resorting to violence, they should put him to sleep.
Pen then asks what they could use to knock out such a massive David, and Liy quickly tells the group to follow her. Leading the way, Liy guides them to Two’s room. Pen attempts to open the door but discovers it's locked. Remembering the master key, Liy pulls it out and unlocks the door, revealing a sleeping Two. However, as they enter the room, Bottle accidentally trips over the door’s chip, almost waking Two up. Acting quickly, Pen and Liy dive under the bed to hide, shushing each other in the process. Pen soon realizes that Bottle is missing, and Liy spots an empty jar on the floor.
The camera cuts to Two, who is now holding Bottle, filled with milk. Groggy and half-awake, Two mutters, asking if anyone's there, but quickly dismisses the thought and drinks the milk from Bottle before drifting back to sleep. Once Two is fully asleep, Bottle manages to sneak away, with Pen and Liy following close behind. As they successfully make their escape, Pen praises Bottle for her efforts, feeling a sense of relief and accomplishment.
The group arrives back at Basketball's Aboveground Factory, where Tennis Ball greets them eagerly, ready to reveal his latest creation—an enhanced version of TV. The group applauds in excitement as Tennis Ball explains that this upgraded TV will play a crucial role in their plan to distract the David, lead him away from the hotel, and ultimately put him to sleep using the milk inside Bottle.
With everything in place, the team heads off to execute the plan. Outside, Black Hole lends his power to help them boost onto the David’s legs, and the team begins climbing. Meanwhile, TV engages the David in a series of distractions, waving and making noises, which successfully catches the David’s attention. The giant slowly starts following TV, moving further from the hotel as planned.
As they continue to climb higher up the David, Liy carefully throws Bottle towards Pen, who catches her without a hitch. Their next objective is to reach the David’s mouth so they can administer the milk and knock him out. However, just as they near their goal, something provokes the David, causing him to thrash and making the group lose their grip. They begin to fall, but a sudden gust of wind sends them soaring upwards, allowing them to grab onto the David’s hair. Pen, sensing the tension, tries to keep everyone calm, instructing them not to panic, but Bottle, overwhelmed by the danger, can't help but scream.
The trio finally make it to the David's mouth, and with careful coordination, they manage to feed him the milk from Bottle. As soon as the milk takes effect, the David begins to get drowsy and eventually falls asleep. However, the sudden shift in the wind from his movements sends Pen, Liy, and Bottle flying off. They tumble through the air but land safely on the ground, relieved that the mission was a success.
As the storm subsides and everything returns to calm, the David slowly gets up and walks away, leaving the hotel in peace, and are safe from elimination.
In "I SAID CAREFUL!!!", Pen and Winner work together to hold up a tree that has split in half while Eraser carefully applies duct tape to secure the break. Their teamwork initially seems successful, and the trio celebrates their apparent victory with a high five. However, their celebration is cut short when the tape fails, causing the tree to collapse. Tragically, it lands on Shampoo, killing them instantly.
The group is struck with horror, but Eraser quickly devises a creative solution. Using Shampoo's solvent as an adhesive, he spreads it over the bottom half of the tree and reattaches the top half firmly. This time, the tree remains intact, and Pen and Winner applaud Eraser's ingenuity, relieved to have completed the task despite the grim turn of events.
At the Cake at Stake, Eraser is revealed as the next contestant eliminated, much to Pen's dismay. The two share an emotional hug, with Pen lamenting the loss of yet another close friend—first Blocky, then Needle, and now Eraser. Pen expresses his uncertainty about what to do next, while Eraser sighs, admitting he truly believed he had a chance to win this time. Their heartfelt moment is interrupted when Scissors wedges between them, offering a quip about "cutting away the sadness." Both Pen and Eraser groan in annoyance at the ill-timed joke.
The focus then shifts to Death P.A.C.T. Yet Again, where Gaty is eliminated, prompting her friends to mourn her departure. Amid the emotional farewells, Book spots the missing posters of previously eliminated contestants and insists that everyone take steps to protect Eraser and Gaty to prevent them from vanishing too.
Pen, determined to keep Eraser safe, picks him up, vowing that as long as they're together, nothing bad will happen. However, his actions spark a heated argument among the contestants over who should be responsible for protecting whom. Everyone vies for the role of protector, with Eraser ultimately being passed around like a prized possession. Pen’s attempts to reclaim him are met with resistance, leaving him frustrated as the debate spirals out of control. Despite the bickering and disorganization, Eraser and Gaty remain safe, with no mysterious disappearances taking place.
For the challenge, teams must retrieve a flag from the summit of either the mountain or the volcano to secure immunity. With their goal set, Pen and the rest of race toward the mountain. Upon reaching the base, they witness Black Hole using his gravity to effortlessly assist his teammates in their ascent. Annoyed by what she perceives as an unfair advantage, Liy takes action. She abruptly hurls Pen toward Fanny, disrupting Black Hole's concentration and causing him to drop her. Fanny plummets to her demise, while Pen safely lands nearby. Liy and Pen exchange a celebratory high five, seemingly pleased with their interference.
As the team regroups, Basketball proposes a plan: order jetpacks from Robot Flower's shop to help them ascend the mountain. The idea gains unanimous approval, and the order is placed. Within moments, Robot Flower speeds back to the hotel and returns with the jetpacks in tow.
Just as the group prepare to gear up, Pin intervenes, asserting that Robot Flower is her teammate and refuses to let use the jetpacks. A struggle breaks out as try to claim them, but before they can resolve the standoff, Black Hole intervenes. Effortlessly, he takes both Pin and the jetpacks, departing back to his team. With their jetpacks now in hand, Black Hole's team begins their ascent, leaving behind. As the team watches their rivals rise into the distance, Pen stares after them, frustration etched across his face.
Fortunately for , Liy managed to salvage one of the jetpacks during the struggle. Despite the small victory, the team initially struggles to devise a plan to maximize its use. After some brainstorming, they settle on an idea: TV will wear the jetpack while everyone else holds onto him in a chain.
TV equips the jetpack, and the group tightly grips one another before taking off. As they soar through the air, Bottle's panicked screams fill the sky, prompting Pen to attempt to calm her, reassuring her that they'll be fine. However, their relief is short-lived as they soon realize the jetpack is struggling under their combined weight. The device begins to malfunction, and TV fights to keep it steady. Amid the chaos, Bottle, now ironically composed, cheekily tells Pen to stop yelling, claiming that everything will be fine.
Thankfully, the group manages a rough but safe landing. However, the jetpack is rendered unusable, forcing them to abandon it and rethink their approach. Pen, determined to keep moving, decides to climb the rest of the way on foot. He gives it his best effort, but the mountain proves far too steep for him to ascend. Frustrated but undeterred, Tennis Ball suggests that they look for supplies to aid their climb.
Liy scans the area and spots a cabin nearby, speculating that it might contain the resources they need. The team begins to make their way toward it, but before they can reach the cabin, Snowball arrives with his own team. Without warning, he hurls a massive heap of snow over the group, burying them in the process. As struggle to free themselves, Snowball and his team seize the opportunity to head inside the cabin, leaving buried and frustrated.
The group quickly help one another out of the snow, and once everyone is free, they cheer. However, their celebration is short-lived as the ground begins to tremble. Realizing something is wrong, they look around and notice a partially obscured sign nearby. It reads, "No Avalanche!" and the group breathes a collective sigh of relief. However, their relief is shattered moments later when the snow covering the rest of the message falls off, revealing the full message: "Notice: Avalanche!"
Panic sets in as the group realizes the imminent danger. Pen, thinking fast, suggests they order climbing equipment from Robot Flower's shop to help them escape. Basketball tries to stop him, warning against the idea, but it’s too late as Pen has already placed the order. Just then, Robot Flower is seen dashing down the mountain at lightning speed, en route to the hotel to retrieve the climbing equipment. Unfortunately, her rapid descent triggers the avalanche.
Acting quickly, the group scrambles toward the nearest shelter—the cabin Snowball and his team had entered earlier. They manage to reach the cabin just as the avalanche engulfs the area, but the snow piles up around the cabin, completely barricading the only exit and leaving them trapped inside.
Inside the cabin, tensions rise quickly as Snowball speculates that caused the avalanche. His frustration boils over, and he lashes out by hitting Liy. Liy warns him not to do that again, but instead of backing down, Snowball smugly flips her switch multiple times before shoving her backward. Before Liy can retaliate, Pen shoves Snowball away, firmly defending his teammate. However, this sparks another confrontation as Book steps in, shoving Pen aside and telling him to respect her teammate.
The argument heats up, and it seems on the verge of escalating further until Tennis Ball intervenes, urging everyone to focus on their predicament. He reminds the group that they’re all stuck in the cabin with no clear way out. Tennis Ball proposes the kill-recover trick as a potential solution, but Ice Cube quickly questions who would recover them and what motivation they’d have to do so. Caught off guard, Tennis Ball struggles to provide an answer.
Frustrated by the lack of a solid plan, Ice Cube accuses Tennis Ball of dooming them all with his poor idea. Her accusation reignites the brewing tension, and another argument erupts. Chaos takes hold as the group descends into a full-blown fight. However, their squabble is cut short when the unstable floor beneath them gives way, causing the contestants to plummets into a deep, dark pit below.
While the group searches for a way out of the pit, Pen receives a notification on his phone stating that his delivery was unsuccessful because Robot Flower couldn’t reach him. Feeling remorseful, Pen turns to Basketball, apologizing for not listening to her earlier and admitting he sees no way out. Snowball, frustrated, blames for their predicament and lashes out by striking Bottle.
In retaliation, Bottle throws a snowball at him, upsetting Ice Cube, who retaliates by hurling a skiboard at Pen. The skiboard causes Pen to drop his phone, and Tennis Ball trips over it, ricochets off the phone, and ends up in a scuffle with Ice Cube. As Pen retrieves his phone, he sees a new notification: his delivery has been redirected, leaving him puzzled.
The fight rages on as icicles begin to fall from the ceiling, followed by piles of snow. Members of Death P.A.C.T. Yet Again emerge from the snowy chaos, escalating the battle further as both groups hurl snowballs at each other.
Amid the commotion, they are reminded of their real goal: finding the flag. Bottle tells to search through the snow, so Pen dives in to locate it. However, Price Tag intervenes, using their string to pull Pen back to the surface, preventing him from reaching the flag. Ultimately, Grassy uncovers the flag, securing immunity for Team 2. Meanwhile, the second flag perched on the volcano remains up for grabs.
With the mountain flag secured, the teams shift their attention to the volcano, where they spot CloudYAY closing in on the final flag. Realizing they've had a significant head start, the other contestants grow anxious about CloudYAY's likely victory. In a rare moment of unity, the teams decide to form a temporary alliance to sabotage CloudYAY, a plan everyone agrees upon.
Grassy takes the lead by shoving Snowball aside, causing him to merge with the surrounding snow. The contestants pile on top of Snowball as his size grows, using him as a makeshift weapon to chase after CloudYAY. The unwieldy plan takes a disastrous turn as they tumble off a cliff, with most of the contestants meeting their end upon impact, but Pen is among one of the survivors.
All of the contestants that died are quickly recovered, including CloudYAY members Pencil, Pillow, and Donut. Upon learning that the other teams have formed an alliance against them, the three confront the group, sparking a chaotic fight. Amid the turmoil, notice Golf Ball and Yellow Face sprinting toward the volcano and decides to break away from the others to chase after them.
By the time reach the volcano, Yellow Face has already crossed the bridge. As the rest of the group attempt to cross, Yellow Face begins violently shaking it, causing Liy and Tennis Ball to lose their footing and plummet into the lava below. Enraged, TV charges at Yellow Face, running him over and clearing the way for Pen, Basketball, and Bottle to cross the bridge without further interference.
The group continue their climb up the volcano, only to encounter a fearsome lava monster blocking their path. In the ensuing chaos, the creature strikes, killing Basketball. Acting quickly, Pen grabs Bottle and hesitates briefly before apologizing to her for what he’s about to do. He then hurls her to the ground, shattering her on impact. The shards fly into the lava monster’s mouth, causing it to choke and retreat in pain. TV pauses to mourn Bottle’s death, but Pen urges him to press on, reminding him that the flag is still within reach.
Pen and TV finally make their way up to the top of the volcano, reaching the top just as Winner is about to claim the flag. In a last-ditch effort, Pen manages to stop Winner, holding them back just long enough. However, his victory is short-lived as a massive plant, which had been tailing them, swiftly devours him. Despite the combined efforts of , Death P.A.C.T. Yet Again, and Team 2; CloudYAY successfully secures the flag, with Winner claiming victory. In the end, and Death P.A.C.T. Yet Again lose the challenge, and Pen, now vulnerable after his encounter with the plant, is among the contestants put up for elimination.
In "Seasonal Shift", Pen and the rest of arrive at the top of the hotel to begin the Cake at Stake ceremony. However, before it starts, Two suddenly disappears, Marker turns green, and the hotel vanishes. Strangely, none of the contestants notice these changes—except for Black Hole. When he tries to raise his concerns, Marker dismisses them as absurd, proudly claiming that he has always been green. Marker even mentions his nickname, "Marker the Green," which he insists everyone has always used. Pen enthusiastically supports this, calling it a great nickname, and the two share a high five. Meanwhile, Black Hole remains bewildered, struggling to make sense of the bizarre alterations.
As the Cake at Stake progresses, Pen is announced safe with 18,114 votes and accepts his cake with gratitude, showing no awareness of the shifting reality. The contestants’ memories seem to be disconnected from the original timeline, leaving Black Hole as the only one conscious of the inconsistencies.
Later, Golf Ball and Tennis Ball piece together that Black Hole’s suspicions were correct: the Yoylite has indeed been tampering with the timeline. Black Hole is uniquely immune to its effects, allowing him to retain his memories and awareness of the original sequence of events. Suddenly, a wave of clarity hits the other contestants, and everyone’s memories of the original timeline return. The realization further confuses Black Hole, and Golf Ball theorizes that the Yoylite may be the cause.
During this revelation, Bottle drifts into a vivid thought, envisioning a clip on TV showing Taco dancing in the Archaic Temple—eerily reminiscent of Flower’s iconic dance in "The Twisted Temple" from the original timeline. Pen notices her thought bubble, picks it up, and comments on how the timeline changes are alternating past events.
Pen then urges TV to locate the scattered failed debuters, prompting TV to analyze the timeline. TV’s investigation reveals that the failed debuters have been scattered across various points in history, their presence further destabilizing the timeline. With this information, the next challenge is announced: teams must travel back in time to retrieve the failed debuters. The two teams that collect the most debuters will earn immunity, while the remaining two will face elimination. is assigned the task of retrieving Kitchen Sink, who is stuck on January 12th, 2018. Resolute and ready for action, Pen rallies his team, and they set off without delay, leaving TV behind to monitor the timeline and provide updates.
Upon arriving, materializes atop a cliff overlooking the action from BFB 5's challenge. Liy surveys her surroundings, clearly confused, and asks what’s going on. Pen, recognizing the setting, explains that she was eliminated before this point in the timeline. As Liy processes this, distant screaming draws their attention. They turn to see Kitchen Sink recklessly chasing Free Food in a paper airplane. In a chaotic moment, the two planes collide, sending all the members of Free Food hurtling toward the ground. However, Kitchen Sink swiftly catches them in their plane and glides away.
Determined to stop Kitchen Sink, decides to build their own paper plane. As they set to work, Bottle eagerly steps onto the incomplete plane, ready for action. However, Pen, Liy, and Tennis Ball quickly shout at her to get off. Bottle agrees and steps back but jumps back on once it's ready. Finally, with the plane completed, the team is ready to take off. However, as they prepare to launch, the plane unexpectedly transforms into an air balloon.
Tennis Ball suggests that the timeline's instability is the result of CloudYAY traveling even further back in time, creating a ripple effect that has altered random details—like their paper plane's transformation. Liy turns her gaze toward the new hosts, Three and Ean, and wonders aloud if this ripple effect might also explain the change in hosts. Pen groans in frustration, exclaiming that he's had enough of all these numbers before hopping onto the air balloon. Urging the rest of the team to join him, Pen points toward the other teams' airplanes, only to notice that all the other paper planes have also evolved into air balloons. Despite the changes, however, climbs aboard their air balloon. Liy takes control, raising the balloon into the air as they set their sights on catching Kitchen Sink and restoring order to the timeline.
In an unfortunate turn of events, accidentally collides with Beep while navigating their air balloon. Both teams survive the impact, though the commotion draws the attention of Death P.A.C.T.. Remote stares at the group in confusion, questioning their presence. Meanwhile, Pen's past self spots his future counterpart, panics, and declares him an imposter. In a frenzy, he pleads with Black Hole to get rid of them. However, Black Hole hesitates, arguing that killing a clone still counts as causing death.
Annoyed and unwilling to deal with Death P.A.C.T., Liy takes charge and hoists the air balloon higher into the sky. As they ascend, they collide with Free Food’s air balloon, and angrily demands that Kitchen Sink stop causing trouble and get down immediately. However, Kitchen Sink smugly refuses, opting instead to create even more mayhem as the air balloons turn into rocket ships.
Suddenly, the rocket ships morph into boats midair, sending all the teams plummeting toward the ground. Frustrated and at her wit's end, Liy activates her secret switch, causing her to transform into a more aggressive version of herself. Charging toward Free Food’s boat, she confronts Kitchen Sink. In one swift move, she grabs Kitchen Sink, slams them onto the boat, and shatters them into pieces. With Kitchen Sink neutralized, Liy reverts back to her original form.
As the teams brace themselves for the fall, they anxiously hope for another timeline shift to save them. Miraculously, the boats transform into clouds, breaking everyone’s fall and allowing them to float safely. Pen picks up the shattered remnants of Kitchen Sink, holding them up and saying that Kitchen Sink really made a mess of things.
Sighing, he urges the team to get out of here, but Tennis Ball hesitates and suggests they should consider fixing the chaos they just caused. After a brief deliberation, the group decides against it, reasoning that the timeline is already unstable enough. With no further delay, they activate the Yoylite and teleport back to the present, bringing Kitchen Sink’s remains with them.
Upon returning to the present, Pen drops Kitchen Sink's remains onto the ground as Four commends the team for their efforts. Wasting no time, Four redirects them to June 29th, 2012, where they arrive amidst a pivotal moment: the BFDI contestants carrying Clapboard toward the Announcer Crusher. The sight unsettles Tennis Ball, who recognizes the event as the moment when he, Pen, and several others attempted to execute Leafy after she sold Dream Island. Bottle notes the irony as she glances at Pen, and Pen insists that he wasn't happy about it. The focus turns to Pen’s past self, visibly eager and enthusiastic about the impending execution. While Pen tries to push aside the weight of his past actions, Liy’s reassures him that everyone has moments they wish they could undo.
As the crusher descends toward Clapboard, the team grows increasingly anxious, strategizing a way to intervene. Their attention is drawn to Leafy fleeing the scene, prompting them to follow her into the Evil Forest. However, they end up losing her. Recalling the path Leafy took in the original timeline, Tennis Ball directs the group to the left, where they catch up to her, now trapped by a massive tree. Despite Leafy's pleas, the team returns her to the rest of the contestants.
Leafy's sudden reappearance prompts a renewed chase among the BFDI contestants, creating the perfect diversion. Seizing the opportunity, rescues Clapboard from the platform just as the crusher looms overhead. With their mission accomplished, the team activates the Yoylite and teleports back to the present.
Carrot Cake congratulates the team for successfully retrieving Clapboard, their second debuter, before quickly sending them to March 1st, 2011. Upon arrival, they see Leek climbing a massive barf bag where the contestants are competing inside. Pen calls out to Leek, signaling for them to come down, but Bubble, who is inside the barf bag, mistakenly thinks Pen's call is a warning about an actual leak. At that moment, Leek accidentally tears a hole in the bag, spilling vomit everywhere. Frustrated, Liy and Pen climb up after Leek, while Bottle picks up Tennis Ball and carries him along.
Later, Team 2 arrives, determined to retrieve Leek. Snowball picks up Price Tag and rips another large hole in the barf bag, sending more vomit spilling out. Bottle notices their intent and tells Liy and Pen to keep climbing while she and Tennis Ball handle the immediate threat. The duo leaps down to confront Team 2, while Liy and Pen continue their ascent. At the top, Leek leaps onto a platform, pushing Pencil off. Liy and Pen soon follow, but when Leek sees them, they dive into the vomit and swim in the opposite direction. Liy, repulsed, refuses to follow suit, but before she can protest further, the barf bag collapses from the loss of vomit.
In the aftermath, they spot Leek in the distance. Pen demands for Leek to come back, but Leek pleads to be left alone. They attempt to escape, but Bottle catches them, blocking their way. As the group regroups, Bottle asks where Tennis Ball is, and the scene cuts to Tennis Ball, who is being pursued by Team 2. The team tries to take Leek from , but despite their efforts, manages to stop them and returns to the present with Leek safely in hand.
The group hands over Leek, and Ean commends them for successfully retrieving their third debuter. However, their brief moment of celebration is abruptly cut short as they notice that the crack in the sky has grown alarmingly larger. In a state of confusion and rising concern, Tree demands to know if either or Team 2 is responsible for the increasing instability, his voice laced with suspicion. Both teams awkwardly deny any involvement.
Just then, TV delivers a horrifying update: CloudYAY have accidently time-traveled back to BFDI 25, shocking the contestants. As the teams prepare to use their Yoylites to travel back and prevent CloudYAY’s interference, the Yoylites across all teams lose their vibrant colors, levitating briefly before the hues are sucked out, rendering them lifeless and completely useless. The contestants stare in disbelief as their once-functional Yoylites drop to the ground, now inert.
With their only means of intervention gone, the teams are left helpless in the present. Unable to stop CloudYAY’s actions or undo the damage that has been done, they watch in helpless horror as CloudYAY navigates the area on TV. Their worst fears end up coming true when Leafy is allowed onto Dream Island, an event that seals the collapse of the timeline and pushes the world further toward its destruction.
As the crack in the sky grows even wider, signaling the impending destruction of everything they’ve fought for, the contestants brace for what they believe will be their final moments. Filled with dread, Pen, Liy, and Bottle cling to each other, resigned to the certainty of their imminent deaths. But just as all hope seems lost, something miraculous happens. The chaos halts abruptly, and reality itself snaps back into place. A deal struck between Gaty and One has restored the timeline, and Two reappears. CloudYAY is also returned to their original timeline, unharmed. Though the crack in the sky lingers, it is now much smaller and more manageable, offering a glimmer of hope amidst the wreckage.
In the aftermath, and CloudYAY are declared safe from elimination. Meanwhile, Pen and the other contestants turn their furious glares toward CloudYAY, livid over the reckless actions that nearly tore the timeline apart. Pen angrily scolds them, making it clear how unacceptable their behavior was, but CloudYAY appears unwilling to take any responsibility for the havoc they caused.

Trivia[]
Comparisons[]
- Pen is one of the three characters who have used a Box of Paper Slips, along with Leafy and Eraser.
- He has used it three times, in "Vomitaco" to buy Leafy's taco, in "Gardening Hero" to bribe the viewers into voting him to rejoin, and in "Oneirophobe's Nightmare" to give Tennis Ball money after helping him stand up.
- Pen is one of the three contestants with a white and blue color scheme, with the others being Clock and Fanny.
- Pen is one of the few characters with a puppet version of himself in "Bowling, Now with Explosions!". The others are Blocky, Pencil, Spongy, and Leafy.
- Pen is the third person to receive an official plush of himself, the first two being Firey and Leafy, and then Firey Jr., Woody, Loser, Four, X, Rocky, Coiny, Marker, Two, Bubble, Pin, Evil Leafy, Tennis Ball, Golf Ball, Flower, Ruby, and Spongy.
- He is also the first contestant competing on TPOT to receive a plush.
- Pen is one of the seven contestants who've been turned into a zombie. The others are Barf Bag, Eraser, Coiny, Puffball, Ice Cube, and Snowball.
- Pen is one of the ten characters who own a phone. The others are Leafy, Coiny, Two, Pillow, Fries, Barf Bag, Basketball, Fanny and Flower.
- Pen and Pin are the only two characters to never appear in any actual Firey Comics or in Total Firey Island, with both of them only appearing in the character description section at the end of the third Firey Comic, the connections sheet, and the Firey Comic cast image.
Competition[]
BFDI[]
- Pen and Firey are the first contestants to have their votes decrease as both received one vote in BFDI 3 and then zero votes in BFDI 4.
- Pen was the first one to achieve 1st place during the point system period.
- He's also the first and only one to keep the 1st place for at least 2 episodes in a row.
- Pen is the first contestant to be eliminated at over 100 votes, with 144 votes.
- He is also the first character ever to receive a 3 digit number of votes.
- Coincidentally, he got 12th place in BFDI with 12² votes during his elimination in "Bowling, Now with Explosions!".
- Pen is the 2nd contestant to be eliminated after cheating in the episode prior. The others are Blocky (BFDI 4) and Stapy (BFB 9).
BFDIA[]
- Pen came in 15th place out of the original contestants in Season 2 voting.
- Pen got the most votes out of all the original contestants who didn't make it to Season 2.
- Among all the contestants who could be voted to join BFDIA, if counting Book, Puffball, and Yellow Face joining and TV being the host, he got the most votes out of everyone who did not join Season 2.
- Pen, along with Blocky, Eraser, Snowball, Woody, and David, are the original contestants who did not get enough votes to join BFDIA.
- Golf Ball also didn't have enough votes but was picked by a contest winner.
- Pen has gone the fourth longest without competing again before season 4, only behind Woody, Snowball, and Eraser.
- Pen was the second most voted character to join IDFB, only losing to Match.
BFB[]
- Pen was the last contestant chosen to be on a team in BFB.
- Pen is the only original contestant on Death P.A.C.T.
- Going strictly by release date order, Pen was the first to receive over 1,000 votes as a least voted contestant.
- Chronologically, Coiny was the first, being the first one safe with well over 5,000 dislikes in "Intruder Alert".
- Going frame by frame, Pen was the first character to switch over to TPOT.
- Pen has been eliminated in the 16th episode of both BFDI and BFB.
TPOT[]
- Pen is one of the four original Squishy Cherries in TPOT, the others are Pin, Eraser, and Pencil.
- In every season he's in, Pen is always on the team that wins the first challenge first.
- Even his temporary team in "Power of Three" was the first to win.
- Pen holds the record for going the longest out of any BFB contestant before being up for elimination again, as he hadn't lost since "Fortunate Ben" and finally lost again in "The Great Goikian Bake-Off".
- is the only team that Pen has been on where he has yet to be the first safe in a Cake at Stake.
General[]
- Pen is 500 million vigintillion dollars in debt to 32 voters as of "The Glistening".
- As of Getting Teardrop to Talk, he is 200 vigintillion dollars in debt, meaning he paid off a majority of that debt.
- In the non-canon short "Marker and Coiny plush have arrived!", Pen has repaid more of his debt, as Pencil states that Pen is 17 vigintillion dollars in debt, which is less than his two hundred vigintillion in BFB 1.
- He fixed all his debt using the Box of Paper Slips, and gave Tennis Ball 48 trevigintillion dollars.
- The episode shows Pen's biggest fear is having to pay back that debt.
- Pen is the last character to be shown from the line of characters in the BFB intro.
- In "Today's Very Special Episode", Pen is shown to be a purple pen despite having a blue cap. This is unusual, because typically the color of a pen's cap indicates the color of its ink.
- It is also the first time in the series he has been seen without his cap (not counting "Last BFDI" since it's non-canon).
- Pen was the last male in BFDI to be created by the Huang Twins.
- He was also the only male to not compete on Total Firey Island.
- Pen is the first person to appear and speak in BFB.
- He is also the first character who isn't voiced by Cary to speak first in a season.
- Pen is afraid of pentagons after Eraser and him came in contact with one.
- Pen apparently can't tell the difference between a rectangle and a parallelogram.
- Apparently, Pen's legal name is Ben with the "🅱️" emoji.
- This makes him the only known contestant with a legal name which is not what they are called by.
- If one were to read into the joke, it seems to imply that the objects live in a place with a legal system or at least an organization that recognizes the legality of the objects' names.
- If this was true, Pen wouldn't be the first lowest-voted contestant whose name doesn't start with a B. Instead, Cloudy would take that title.
- The use of "🅱️" emoji references an internet meme in which the initials of words are substituted for the letter "B".
- Pen was the only member on his team to appear in "Don't Dig Straight Down".
- As stated by the video "BFB Contestants React to Wiki Comments", Pen is the only one out of his group of friends who hasn’t intentionally killed another character.
- This makes him one of the few characters overall to have never intentionally killed someone.
- Out of the eight contestants whose names start with P, Pen is the only male out of them.
- "Outbreak At Stake" marks Pen's first time killing another character, albeit in a zombified state, since the one time he popped Bubble in "Lofty".
- Pen is one of the few characters with a mobile phone instead of a flip phone.
