video placement[]
There's a video here at the bottom of the Gallery. I edited the Sleep spell yesterday, adding a Gallery with a pic near the bottom, but there was a separate Visuals section with a video near the top (no.3 in ToC) Also, when you're not logged in, the Gamespot expert videos fall Right between the header "Gallery" and the subheader (in this page, Find Familiar) -- Hazif (talk) 05:31, 6 June 2023 (UTC)
- Gaaah… !!! Used Microsoft Edge for the first time to check this logged-out behavior – why is Fandom doing this? Oh my … Yeah, okay, I don't know what to do. What are your thoughts? I mean, what exactly is your complaint? Are we able to do something about it?
- For the "visuals" section on Sleep – I've moved the video to your gallery.
- Okay, moved the gallery to the bottom of the page, also applied different formatting to the subheader – the Gamespot stuff is not dependent on the gallery tags, as refreshing the page in Edge after my edit, it's now placed after the familiar stats, right before the "Where to obtain its scroll" section.
- I do love that I'm having an account and that I do not have to see all those ads, but from a different point of view: an administrator of a wiki should know how pages are presented to anons. That's … *sigh*. Just *sigh*. -- -- You talkin' to me? -- cCContributions -- 08:46, 6 June 2023 (UTC)
Dexterity bonus on thief skills?[]
Familiars have dexterity 18. Does it boost their thief skills?
- It does, but that's already factored into both the in-game descriptions and the stats in the articles. So, yes, you can let your familiar pickpocket potions of mind focusing from you to get better thieving skills, but generally-speaking you're better off giving them potions that affect their thieving skills directly (eg potion of master thievery, or potion of perception in the case of disarm traps). Though potions of mind focusing are PLENTIFUL (pretty much every temple has them in BG2 and in large stocks), so there's a case for using them instead... But don't forget you can also use the Luck spell to get and extra +5% to all thieving skills for a few seconds, if your familiar is having a hard time with a high difficulty trap or something. --TheWildestMage (talk) 16:30, 19 March 2024 (UTC)
