Rodnim is a commoner who can be found standing near the entrance to the Ducal Palace in North Baldur's Gate. He will approach any member of the party upon sight and inform the party that they will not be let inside.
- "Hey there, pal. If ye're trying to get inside the palace, ye're outta luck. Common folk aren't allowed in there. Grand Dukes don't let no one in, unless there's some sort of special event going on."
If you do not explore the immediate area around the front gates of the palace during chapters five or six, Rodnim will still be present near the entrance during chapter seven, standing in the same location as before. Again, he will approach any member of the party that comes into sight and initiate dialogue, only this time he utilizes a different dialogue command and usually begins the conversation with:
- "Hello there, stranger? Is there something I can do for you?"
However, instead of leaving the area and disappearing following your reply, he'll stick around and continue taking to you if you continue to pester him with questions. Several of the reply's lead to quest updates in the quest section of your Journal under "The Rise of Sarevok" and "Duke Eltan's Illness" headings.
Notes[]
- Rodnim is given the dialogue script MTOWBAZ.dlg, a common dialogue script that is given to most of the commoners in the city of Baldur's Gate during chapter seven.
Trivia[]
