Gameplay[]
- When this spell connects, it deals Poison damage and tries to inflict a Poison status effect.
- This spell will always break Sanctuary, even if cast on self.
- This spell can be stacked with itself.
- Despite the fact the stated duration of this spell's lingering poison damage is 1 turn (10 rounds), it actually lasts for 62 seconds (10 rounds + 2 seconds), which causes the per-round poison damage to hit once more, beyond the expected duration, for a total of 11 times. This, of course, is under normal circumstances, without taking into account Slow or Haste effects.
- Although the average damage this spell will normally inflict, at level 17+, on a target is 8d8 (average of 36 damage) + 66 (over the course of 10 rounds + 2 seconds), totaling 102 damage, if haste is applied to the enemy the damage over time grows substantially. For example, when put on a spell trigger along with Improved Haste against a party member with hitpoints raised to 900 (cheated in for testing purposes) this did 33 initial damage (on the 8d8 roll) plus 240 damage spread over the 10 rounds, totaling 273 damage (tested in BG2EE).

Through this spell, the caster can poison a single victim. The damage dealt by the poison depends upon the level of the priest casting the spell.
7th level: 4d4 + 1 every 4 seconds
9th level: 5d5 + 1 every 3 seconds
12th level: 6d6 + 1 every 2 seconds
15th+ level: 8d8 + 1 every 1 second
The victim cannot avoid the initial damage unless it is completely immune to the effects of poison, but a successful save vs. poison at -2 will negate the ongoing damage.
