The Nymph Cloak is an enchanted cloak that was woven from a Lock of Nymph's Hair. It offers a +2 charisma bonus to the wearer and the ability to cast Charm Creature. It should not be confused with the Cloak of Bravery, which is an evil magical cloak crafted from the flayed skin of nymphs.
Description
“ | The fabled Nymph Cloak is renowned for its ability to increase the Charisma of even the most surly dwarf. A Cormyrean noble hoping to make her politically convenient marriage more palatable apparently went to great expense to obtain one for herself and another for her husband. | ” |

- Baldur's Gate (1998)
This icon indicates content from the original Baldur's Gate campaign.Baldur's Gate:
Enhanced Edition (2012)
This icon indicates content from the Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition campaign. In the first part of the series, the Nymph Cloak has the capacity to store 100 charges of Charm Creature, but holds only 40 after its initial acquisition. It can be recharged to full capacity in a similar fashion as for wands: by selling and repurchasing it.- Baldur's Gate:
Siege of Dragonspear (2016)
This icon indicates content from the Siege of Dragonspear campaign of the Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition. The same applies to Jaheira's cloak which initially has only 5 charges.
- Baldur's Gate:
- Nymph Cloak variant of Charm Creature:
- ...is treated as 8th level spell.
- ...does not turn target hostile when the charm wears off.
- ...affects all creatures without explicit immunity (including enemies unaffected by traditional charms such as many undead); does not, however, bypass magic resistance.
- Baldur's Gate I & II: Enhanced Editions
This icon indicates content from all Enhanced Editions of the Baldur's Gate games. May situationally encompass Siege of Dragonspear and The Black Pits I & II content as well. This 100-%-chance is reduced, though, to 70% for half-elves and only 10% for elves.
- Baldur's Gate I & II: Enhanced Editions
- ...does not belong to any of the schools of magic and thus is not affected by specialist mage bonuses/penalties.
- Comparison to Algernon's Cloak: Although both items are similar, there are a couple small but notable differences. The Nymph Cloak has charges which can be used at any time, whereas Algernon's Cloak can only be used once per rest. The Nymph Cloak can be used from touch range only, while Algernon's Cloak has a range of 40ft (tested to be 100ft in game). In theory, the Nymph Cloak is better suited for a 'battle mage' (or cleric), ie a mage casting defensive buffs like Armor, Mirror Image, etc, and is want to use charges frequently and at close range. Algernon's Cloak is more of a 'backup tool' for infrequent use, like manipulating an NPC's actions.
