This spell summons an Aerial Servant to do the caster's bidding.
Description[]
“ | This spell summons an Aerial Servant to do the caster's bidding for the duration of the spell. The servant will attack any enemies that the caster decides, staying until the duration of the spell expires or it is slain. | ” |
Gameplay[]
The player selects a location in range for the creature to form, and then when the spell is finished casting it will arrive on that spot.
The creature is summoned and can be controlled to select where it should move or what to target. Giving it no orders will cause the creature to follow its internal AI script.
The creature appears as a translucent air elemental figure when summoned and is a green circled controlled creature.
The servant is initially invisible when summoned and will remain so until it engages in an invisibility breaking action, such as attacking something.
After that action the creature is for all intents and purposes no longer in a state of invisibility, although the sprite's cosmetic appearance still retains a quasi-visible appearance.
The servant cannot travel to another area map and must remain on the one it is summoned to.
A servant can be destroyed with a Death Spell or if it enters a Death Fog cloud.
The servant remains for the spell's duration and disappears from the map after expiration.

Trivia[]
The Advanced Dungeons and Dragons Priest spell Aerial Servant differs from the game's implementation, in that the summoned servant will attack the summoner unless protected by a Protection from Evil spell or protection circle. Unlike some other summoned creatures, the servant will not fight for the caster and will not attack other beings. It is primarily used to carry heavy loads and to seek out and fetch items or other beings which it can capture and bring back to the priest mostly unharmed.
