Dark Illuminated Bilge

Level 712.5 is the large bilge of a galleon. "Wooden Aquifer" is a perfect square of 70km2 by 70km2 in area, with the width and length of the level increasing gradually the higher you go with a maximum size of 100km2 by 100km2. Loading audio, refresh page if this doesn't go away...

The level itself is almost completely flooded with a sticky, unknown substance (named "Blackwater") that has been likened to crude oil. Material tests have revealed large concentrations of ethanol in the substance along with salt and water; The other composite materials are unknown. The substance smells of seawater and is very potent. The distinct smell of black mold is also very present in this level. If you touch the "Blackwater", you should rinse your hands or the afflicted area with Almond Water because accidental ingestion can cause several diseases ranging from minor viral or bacterial infections to even some records of the plague. Fortunately, any diseases contracted from the liquid cannot be transmitted regardless of the disease's previous properties.

Floating in the "Blackwater" are large platforms of wood. The platforms appear to be small, dilapidated rafts. Additionally, piercing through the hull are several rocks that range in size, shape and stability. All holes on this level leak "Blackwater" but no amount of liquid poured into the already existing "Blackwater" will affect neither the composition nor volume of the fluid.

The level has few sources of light, those being oil lanterns and, rarely, fluorescent lights. All lights in this level function at a dimmed brightness.

The Flood:[]

Previously, the level was known as "The Bilge" and was a large maze. The level promptly collapsed due to extreme instability and liquid immediately flooded the level. The collapse closed off many of the exits, opened new ones and allowed entities to travel to and from the level. Most of the time, the only entity you will find here are Smilers. Smilers in the level are strangely docile when unprovoked but bringing in a strong, electrical light source or attacking them will turn them hostile. Wanderers describe Smilers in this level as strangely happy rather than intimidating.

Entities:[]

The most common are Smilers but you can occasionally spot others too.

Communities and Outposts:[]

Fishing Town:[]

A group of fishermen have lived off of fishing in the "Blackwater". They haul in the corpses of entities that have succumbed to drowning and eat them. The fishermen are very proud of the process they've perfected for detoxifying the body by pouring Almond Water into the digestive system then gutting the corpse and soaking the desired parts in more Almond Water. They say they toss human corpses back into the "Blackwater" and deny claims of cannibalism. They are extremely friendly and not a threat. They might even offer you some of their food if you ask; some courageous wanderers have described it as salty, sour and surprisingly pleasant.

Entrances:[]

  • Going back down the stairs in Level 7 immediately after leaving Level 6 has a small chance of bringing you here.
