Torbert is a septon of the Faith of the Seven in King's Landing.[1] He is one of the Most Devout.[2]

A Feast for Crows
Septon Torbert is among the leading possibilities to become the new High Septon after the old one died.[1] Torbert kisses Queen Cersei Lannister's feet whenever they meet. Cersei looks for him and Septon Raynard when she visits the Great Sept of Baelor, but Torbert cannot be located.[2] According to the High Sparrow, Torbert is confined to a penance cell on nothing but bread and water as the High Sparrow believes it is sinful for any man to be as plump as Torbert with half the realm starving.[2]
