Durran's Point is a promontory on the northern shore of Shipbreaker Bay in the stormlands.

Geography

Durran and Elenei at Durran's Point, from Game of Thrones Blu-ray

Storm's End, the seat of House Baratheon, is located at Durran's Point. There is no safe anchorage below the great cliffs, which are named after Durran Godsgrief, the founder of House Durrandon.[1] There is a cavern with a landing beneath the castle, however.[2]

Great storms which begin in the Summer Sea travel north and slam into the point.[3]

History

Amid Robert's Rebellion, the smuggler Davos navigated the tunnel below Durran's Point and delivered onions and salt fish to the starving garrison during the siege of Storm's End.[4]

Recent Events

A Clash of Kings

Ser Davos Seaworth rows Melisandre into the tunnel beneath Storm's End, and the shadowbinder births a living shadow[2] which assassinates the castle's castellan, Ser Cortnay Penrose.[5]

Quotes

The seaward side of Storm's End perched upon a pale white cliff, the chalky stone sloping up steeply to half again the height of the massive curtain wall. A mouth yawned in the cliff, and it was that Davos steered for, as he had sixteen years before.[2]
