House Durrandon of Storm's End was the house of the Storm Kings from the stormlands.[1] Their seat was Storm's End, an ancient castle raised by Durran Godsgrief, the founder of their line. The Durrandon sigil was a crowned black stag on a field of gold.[2] Their words were Ours is the Fury. Both sigil and words were adopted by House Baratheon, who descend from House Durrandon through the female line, during Aegon's Conquest.

History
Ancient History
The line of the Storm Kings dates back to the Age of Heroes when their kingdom was founded by King Durran Godsgrief, a legendary hero.[3] The First Men warred with Andals when the newcomers invaded the stormlands, but the two peoples eventually made peace and intermarried.[4]
The Storm Kings at times[5] ruled much of the eastern half of Westeros, an area reaching from Cape Wrath to the Bay of Crabs.[6] Their dominion was protected from Dorne and the Kingdom of the Reach by the Dornish Marches,[5] and they conquered the riverlands from House Teague.[7] The riverman resented Durrandon rule, however, and some joined Harwyn Hoare, King of the Iron Islands, when he took the Trident from Arrec Durrandon.[7]
The Conquest
The Storm Kings' power dwindled in the centuries before Aegon's Conquest. The Kings of the Reach from House Gardener nibbled at their domains in the west, Dornishmen were threats to the south, and Harren Hoare, King of the Isles and the Rivers, took lands north of the Blackwater Rush. King Argilac Durrandon managed to stop this decline for a while, but by the time of the Conquest Argilac had grown old and his prowess at arms had faded.[1]
During the Conquest, Orys Baratheon, one of Aegon Targaryen's fiercest generals and his rumored bastard brother, slew Argilac the Arrogant, last of the Storm Kings, in the Last Storm.[1] Orys married Argilac's daughter Argella Durrandon and adopted the sigil and words of his wife's ancestral line, creating House Baratheon of Storm's End, with his descendants having the blood of the Durrandons flowing in their veins.[8]

Quotes
Today, the writ of House Baratheon runs to the south bank of the Wendwater and lower reaches of the kingswood, and along the stony shores of the narrow sea up to the base of Massey's Hook...but before Aegon's Conquest, before even the coming of the Andals, the warrior kings of House Durrandon pushed their borders considerably farther.[5]
—writings of Yandel
It is said that Baratheon unchained her with his own hands, wrapped his cloak around her, poured her wine, and spoke to her gently, telling her of her father's courage and the manner of his death. And afterward, to honor the fallen king, he took the arms and words of the Durrandon for his own. The crowned stag became his sigil, Storm's End became his seat, and Lady Argella his wife.[6]
