Welcome to the Bulbagarden Archives, Littlmiget123!

As a new user, you may wish to learn a few things that will be useful in your uploading:

The Manual of Style, or MoS, outlines the format and guidelines of all images on Bulbagarden Archives.

All of our administrators are here to help! Talk to them if you have any questions or problems with the Archives.

Tagging images with correct licenses and categories is a must. These guidelines will help you learn more about tagging images.

Miscellaneous
  • Please read the checklist when you upload media files. The checklist is there to make sure you are doing everything necessary when uploading said media files.
  • Be sure to tag and categorize all images. This helps organize the vast amount of images we have here.
  • Check if your image already exists by searching through categories, and Bulbapedia pages. This action will help prevent unnecessary duplicates from appearing.
  • When adding a licensing tag to anime or game screenshots, please avoid just choosing "Screenshot". This is not descriptive and places the images in the wrong category. Make sure to choose "Screenshot from a Pokémon game," or "Screenshot from the Pokémon anime." This will put them in the right categories, and help keep the Archives clean.
  • Does your image have a purpose? Will you be using it on a Bulbagarden Project? Avoid uploading images because you think they are "Cute" or "Awesome". That clutters the Archives.
  • Personal images are limited to two for each User. Personal images include personal logos, personal trainer sprites, drawings, trainer cards and mostly any image that would only be used in the User: namespace and have no encyclopedic value to Bulbagarden and its affiliates. Please tag these with the {{i-Personal}} template for easier organization. Under no circumstance should a photograph of one's self ever be uploaded onto Bulbapedia Archives.
  • In addition, please upload images with meaningful names. Names that are just numbers, for example, do not describe anything about the image, and can make it difficult for searchers. Names are just as important as licenses and categories, so make them descriptive.
  • Due to the many automated templates used on the wiki, lowercase extensions are imperative. That means jpg and png instead of JPG and PNG. It looks cleaner, it works better, and it does not cause any problems. Make sure to always use lowercase extensions.
  • If you're confused about the requirements for uploading files, have a look at this guide.
Thank you, and have a good time uploading here!

.jpgs categorizing and bad quality

Hi. There is a policy that Bulbagarden has about in its images. I'm sorry none of the admins didn't post the above intro message so you would know what goes on here. First. Images always have to be in the .png format. Never in the .jpg or any other format. Second, you need to categorize the images. This can be done by [[Category: (subject)]] next to the description. And finally, please do not upload images that are poor quality, have logos at the bottom (ESPECIALLY THOSE) and are small. You commited just about every picture crime here with what you uploaded. You're lucky I'm telling you this, because if an admin told you this, they would come down on you like a ton of bricks. So please don't upload awful pics like the ones you uploaded. Thanks! --Hmdwgf 18:53, 6 November 2009 (UTC)

Well, not the EVERY pic crime... I've seen a couple even worse pics. But yeah. Please upload png screenshots instead of jpgs and do not upload images with TV channel watermark logos. I'd like to correct, though, that if your screenshot is of low resolution and there is no image of that subject yet (and you think the image is important to have), a lowres pic is always better than no pic at all. Stop uploading bad quality pics. To be honest, I have the suspicion you are taking smaller size quality pics and enlarging them. That doesn't make them higher quality. --Hmdwgf 06:45, 28 November 2009 (UTC)

Another reminder, please don't upload low quality screenshots, even if they're in .png format. Jellotalk 18:39, 22 October 2010 (UTC)
I dunno what happened there, to tell you the truth. It looked really good on my computer, and when I uploaded it, it came out awful. Littlmiget123 18:41, 22 October 2010 (UTC)

Big big problem

Due to the many automated templates used on the wiki, lowercase extensions are imperative. That means jpg and png instead of JPG and PNG. It looks cleaner, it works better, and it does not cause any problems. You must use lowercase extensions at all times. MaverickNate 04:34, 28 November 2009 (UTC)

Pause.

Look at your contribs. Now look what I've added. Now look back at yours. Please remember to completely categorize the images please. Thank you. --P S Yライダー 22:10, 24 May 2011 (UTC)

Okay, I'm sorry. I didn't realize that you could catagorize attacks. ^^; Thanks for the heads up. :D Littlmiget123 22:12, 24 May 2011 (UTC)
Yep, images should be categorized any and all ways possible: people, places, Pokémon, moves, abilities, etc. No problemo. :D --P S Yライダー 22:25, 24 May 2011 (UTC)
  • sigh* I'm so sorry 'bout that. It won't happen again, promise. Thanks for the heads up, though. I'll keep it in mind when I'm uploading pictures again. ^-^ Littlmiget123 22:35, 24 May 2011 (UTC)

Charm image

I noticed that the image you uploaded looks similar to this one. I was just letting you know. Pattyman 18:52, 24 June 2011 (UTC)

They're actually the same image, but the one I recently uploaded is in higher quality. I forgot to put the delete tag on the latter. ^-^' Littlmiget123 19:26, 24 June 2011 (UTC)
Thanks for doing so. Pattyman 22:56, 24 June 2011 (UTC)
