The Battle Droid, also known as the Battle Pig,[1] is a character that appears in the Angry Birds Star Wars series. It was a mass-produced robot model created and used by the Pork Federation.

Appearance[]

The Battle Droids have the appearance of medium-sized robots with bodies mostly made of yellow metal. Resembling a pig, the Battle Droids have minor details such as two small ears on their heads and a snout-like accessory on their faces to look like one. Their eyes are two large, dark brown circles, both of which have a diagonal line in between. Some Battle Droids also have their bottom half lime colored, as if a real pig was disguised as one.

Overview[]

The Battle Droids only appear in Angry Birds Star Wars II as characters aligned to the Pork Side. As such, they appear as playable characters in that side's chapters, and as enemies in most of the Bird Side's chapters.

The Battle Droids' first appearance as an enemy is in the first level of the Bird Side version of Naboo Invasion, and also appear in the Bird Side versions of Battle of Naboo, Rise of the Clones, most levels of Reward Chapter, and some levels of Master Your Destiny as such. Here, they are commonly sheltered inside of structures, and might be carrying a gun which they can use to shoot lasers from time to time. However, they are very weak and can be defeated easily. Doing so will award the player with 5.000 extra points.

As playable characters, the Battle Droids first appear in the twelveth level of the Pork Side version of Naboo Invasion, and appear as such as well in the Pork Side versions of every other chapter except Rebels and Master Your Destiny. Nonetheless, they can also be used in every level (including those in the Bird Side), as long as the player has one. When they are launched, the player can tap anywhere onto the screen to make the Battle Droid shoot three lasers to that location. They can also perform this ability when they are hit, although the player will only have one second to use it before they are unable to do so. Gathering 220.000 points using Battle Droids will unlock one level of Reward Chapter for them.

The costs of the Battle Droid are as follows:

Product Cost (in Credits)
+10 100
+30 200
+100 50
Permanent 1000

Personality[]

As robots, the Battle Droids are lifeless. They are all connected to one single mind, meaning that they all behave the same. While said mind was made to be effective, it somehow came out as a stupid one, meaning that the Battle Droids are generally clumsy and go to enemy fire without them realizing it.[1] Nonetheless, they are obedient and carry out their master's orders without question.

Powers and abilities[]

It is shown that the Battle Droids are good at driving vehicles such as tanks or ships.

Equipment[]

All Battle Droids wield a laser gun, which they can use to shoot lasers that can destroy objects and attack enemies.

Weaknesses[]

The Battle Droids are very fragile and can be destroyed with a small fall. The ineffective mind they are connected to also makes them very clumsy and stupid, meaning that they can be defeated easily on a battle.[1]

Red Battle Droids are a red-colored variant of the Battle Droid, though they apparently share the same features as the normal Battle Droids.
