• Use: Teaches you how to summon this mount. This mount changes depending on your Riding skill and location.
• Alliance Only
• Requires Level 10
• Requires Apprentice Riding

The Spectral Gryphon mount is the Alliance-side reward for when an inactive player accepts your Scroll of Resurrection and subscribes to World of Warcraft for at least 30 days. This reward became first available on March 6, 2012, but will only be offered for a limited time.

This item drops only for Alliance players when they open the  [Spectral Mount Crate]. It is sent through the in-game mail system to one character of your choice, on any of your active accounts.

The invited player must have previously subscribed to the game for at least 30 days and their account must have become inactive on or before March 4th, 2012. If the invited player accepts, they will receive several incentives of their own:

• One character boosted to level 80
• Free upgrade to Cataclysm
• 7 free days of game time, and
• Free character move to your realm and faction

Notes[]

• As long as you have an active account of your own, you can send a Scroll of Resurrection to any of your personal, inactive accounts. Other than that, all requirements are exactly the same for any inactive account.
• This mount was very likely inspired by the spectral gryphon buff. It appears to be the exact same skin as the buff.
• The first flying ghost mount available to the Alliance.

Patch changes[]

• Patch 5.4.7 (2014-02-18): No longer obtainable with removal of Scroll of Resurrection promotion.
  
• Patch 5.0.4 (2012-08-28): Now teaches both spectral mounts but faction restriction still applies.
  
• Patch 4.3.0 (2011-11-29): Added.
