Moonkin Hatchling is found inside a 
[Moonkin Egg], which is available from the shop or the In-Game Store for $10 or ā¬10. It was released on November 29, 2010 along with 
[Lil' Ragnaros].[1]
With the See You Later Bundle on 20 December 2018, this pet was available at a discounted price with other items. The pet is no longer available for purchase as it entered hibernation in the Blizzard Archive as of 19 January 2019.[2]

- Until December 31, 2010, Blizzard donated 50% of all sales from this companion to the Make-A-Wish Foundation.[1] Over $800 thousand dollars was raised.[3]
- Available only to players on realms located in North America, Europe, and Korea.
- Players who purchase it receive a code similar to that of the loot cards. When you enter the code in your account all characters are mailed a copy of this pet, as well as any future characters you create.
- The Moonkin Hatchling is a somewhat unique companion in that it will have a different look depending on which faction the player belongs to.
- The Moonkin Hatchling responds to /dance emotes.
