Change datatype to external-id
[edit]Proposal - Change Data type of Patientplus ID (P1461) from String to External identifier
I think String is the wrong type for Patientplus ID (P1461). Can we please change it to be External identifier.
As per Help:Data_type#Changing_datatype please indicate support/opposition below. Iwan.Aucamp (talk) 16:53, 15 October 2019 (UTC)
Discussion
[edit]- Comment The same "identifier" value has been applied to several wikidata items in a number of different cases here; these should be cleaned up. For example three items have the value 'pathogenic-free-living-amoeba'. ArthurPSmith (talk) 17:09, 15 October 2019 (UTC)
- Support This is an identifier for articles on patient.info. The 11 "Unique value" violations out of 755 uses don't matter. LennardHofmann (talk) 13:53, 7 September 2022 (UTC)

- Support But about string versus external-id, the string seems to be used as identifier, but like often with az-strings, it is not always clear how stable they are (e.g. do they fix spelling errors, etc). But that can be updated, when needed. --Egon Willighagen (talk) 07:26, 6 April 2023 (UTC)
