Speedy deletion of Work and travel
[edit]
A tag has been placed on Work and travel, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be blatant advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read our the guidelines on spam as well as the Wikipedia:Business' FAQ for more information.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. [edit] Welcome to Wikipedia. Please do not remove speedy deletion tags from pages that you have created yourself, as you did with Work and travel. If you do not believe the page should be deleted, then please place {{hangon}} on the page (please do not remove any existing speedy deletion tag) and make your case on the page's talk page. Administrators will look at your reasoning before deciding what to do with the page. Thank you. Lordjeff06 (talk) 14:17, 24 February 2008 (UTC)
Please do not remove speedy deletion notices from pages you have created yourself, as you did with Work and travel. Please use the {{hangon}} template on the page instead if you disagree with the deletion. Thank you. Closedmouth (talk) 14:26, 24 February 2008 (UTC)
Welcome to wikipedia and a note about promotional editing
[edit]Hi Kelverin, welcome to Wikipedia and thank you for taking the time to edit the encyclopedia. Unfortunately your additions at the moment are not meeting some of our policies and guidelines for inclusion. In general Wikipedia should not be used for promotion. So the http://sss.sustainedconsultantservices.com link you added to intern, J1 visa and Work and travel is not appropriate. Our external links guidelines provide more information on what is appropriate in this regard.
Also some of of content added to the Work and travel and J1 visa articles is written in an unencyclopedic style. As an encyclopedia we aren't directly addressing people who want to use a service in our writing. We're addressing a more general audience and providing, in a sense, a more disinterested voice. So sections like What are the benefits for employers? or wording that looks like it could have come straight out of a brochure are generally inappropriate. We try to stay factual and provide a neutral voice summarizing the opinions of experts for a general audience. When adding to an article it might be helpful to think about what style you'd expect to read in, say, Encyclopædia Britannica rather than on the website of a organization promoting (or objecting to) the subject of the article.
You might also take a look at our guidelines on editing with a conflict of interest - I'm just guessing from the way you've edited so far, but it looks like you may be connected with Sustained Consultant Services, and if so, this guideline could help you avoid some common issues.
Hope this is helpful, if you have any questions please feel free to leave me a message at the bottom of my my talk page. Thanks. -- SiobhanHansa 15:28, 24 February 2008 (UTC)
