Zalman Teitelbaum vs. Zalman Leib Yekusiel Yehudah Teitelbaum
[edit]The correct Wikipedia format for this article is Zalman Teitelbaum and not Zalman Leib Yekusiel Yehudah Teitelbaum. See Wikipedia:Manual of Style (biographies)#Names: "...the article title should generally be the name by which the subject is most commonly known, the subject's full name should be given in the lead paragraph, if known." Thus the article about Fidel Castro is called Fidel Castro and not "Fidel Alejandro Castro Ruz" and the article about François Mitterrand is called François Mitterrand and not "Maurice Adrien Marie Mitterrand" and Bill Clinton is Bill Clinton on Wikipedia and not "William Jefferson 'Bill' Clinton (born William Jefferson Blythe III)" which is put in the opening paragraph but it's not the name of the article. - He is commonly known as Zalman Leib, not Zalman, and the name of the page should reflect as much.--brewcrewer (yada, yada) 01:06, 6 August 2014 (UTC)
- So why did you move the page from Zalman LeibTeitelbaum to Zalman Teitelbaum and not to Zalman Leib Teitelbaum? -- -- -- 21:58, 13 March 2018 (UTC)
- I agree with brewcrewer and will request the move Esotericmadman (talk) 16:28, 23 January 2025 (UTC)

- no one in the world calls him zalman in the article itself it says he is known as zalman leib, the fact that some clueless reporters call him zalman doesn't make it his name. I challenge you to find even one orthodox jewish source that refers to him as zalman. see Talk:Zalman Teitelbaum#Zalman Teitelbaum vs. Zalman Leib Yekusiel Yehudah Teitelbaum above.
