Our assignment this week for Mrs. Matlock's Alphabe-Thursday's Rainbow Summer School, is to find and post something ORANGE! This little art print is from a 1940's pictorial scrapbook I recently discovered.
And here is Rip Van Winkle himself wondering, "Surely, I have not slept here all night!"
Happy Rainbow Days!

that pic is awesome! i like the troll guys in the background :)
ReplyDeleteI love that picture :) It has a very painterly feeling to it. Rip Van Wrinkle definitely looks comfortable sleeping in that pile of leaves!
ReplyDeleteLots of shades of orange in that picture. When I first looked I thought it was Santa Claus resting up for December. :)
ReplyDeleteSo Fall like......
ReplyDeleteLove,
Marilyn
Such a pretty color....
ReplyDeletevery nice picture, Coralie !
AlphabeThursday sounds like a delightful Thursday doing to do! And you're scrapbook treasure enchants! Maybe I can come out and play on Thursdays, too! Uh-huh, I think it would be fun!
ReplyDeleteRip Van Winkle is one of those stories that has always freaked me out. I find it completely disturbing to conceive of waking 100 years after you fall asleep... although sometimes I wish that I could wake up a week from when I am and not have to deal with whatever it is I'm dealing with.
ReplyDeleteYou find the nicest and most unusual pics.
ReplyDeleteI was telling my daughter something the other day and used an example of Rip Van Winkle - she said who is that?
lol

At first I thought it was Santa Claus lol. I'm glad you wrote who it was. It is a lovely picture with all the orange leaves.

ReplyDeleteI like that illustration for Rip Van Winkle. I always found it a bit scary when I was a little girl, but that is a gentle illustration.
