Yokai Tengu was a flute-themed Yokai serving the Kibaoni Army Corps. He served as a minor antagonist in Shuriken Sentai Ninninger, being the main antagonist of the 6th episode and a minor antagonist in the 47th and final episode.
He was voiced by Masaharu Satō, who previously voiced Bodyguard Hydrid, Dezumozorlya, DezumoVoorla, Tylerian Durden, Jougami, Gyuuya, and Rock Blast Banki.
Biography[]
Tengu is created when Raizo Gabi infects a clarinet with a corrupted Sealing Shuriken in order to lure out Takaharu to finish their fight. As the Ninngers arrived, Tengu expects Takaharu's arrival without knowing that he is sitting in for a test makeup so he orders the Hitokarages to attack the rest of them. Raizo Gabi appears and easily incapacitates them before taking Fuuka as a hostage in his pocket dimension. After finishing his midterm test, Takaharu rushs to Tengu and Fuuka is freed with Raizo challenging him into Tengu's pocket dimension. Fuuka is joined by her cousins as they transform and fight the Yokai. After aerial combat, Tengu's shadow is pinned by Shiro Ninger for Kasumi and Yakumo to finish him and free Takaharu. After Raizo Gabi is overwhelmed by the Ninningers, even losing one of his horns, Kyuemon Izayoi spirits him away and makes Tengu into a giant. Summoning the Otomo Nin, they form into Shurikenjin and killing Tengu as Shurikenjin Paon.
Tengu is among the Yokai the Ninningers note to Kinji Takigawa they had destroyed prior to his arrival, making him displeased that he didn't have the chance to defeat them personally as StarNinger.
Yokai Tengu is later among the Youkai resurrected by Kyuemon when he uses the End Shuriken to begin reshaping the world. Although the effect also de-powers the Ninningers, Yakumo fights on regardless against Binbogami, and Advanced Yokai Binbogami who he manages to easily slay.
