He was portrayed by Jeremy Crutchley.
Biography[]
Past[]
Everything about Prackett is shrouded in mystery, with the only thing that is known is his status of Les Fleurs du Mal, a secret society of wealthy thrill seekers that have everything and so began to be bored with life. Prackett made them have a reason to be alive, creating dangerous games for the society that he hosts in parties, choosing a random guest as the player. The games are always different and include deadly situations were the player must use tools that are provided by Prackett and save their own lives for the society's amusement. Prackett sells it as a thrilling experience, but it is actually a death trap , as all games are personally tricked by him to make sure all players die regardless of if they win or not. His ties to the criminal known as Louis T. Steinhil made Prackett and Les Fleurs du Mal target for an FBI Task Force and being in the personal Black List of Raymond Reddington, gaining the number 151.
The Blacklist[]
The episode starts with Prackett hosting a Defiance with a man named Vance Palmer as the player. The Defiance consists in defusing a bomb with tools provided by Prackett, including a plan showing the intern mechanisms of the bomb and forceps to cut the cables, all of this inside a security glass cube to prevent him from escaping. Palmer eventually gives up and demands Prackett to end the Defiance, just for him to ignore his pleas and show him a sick smile. At the end, Palmer succeeds at winning his Defiance and defuses the bomb, making Prackett show a displeased face. An enthusiastic Palmer doesn't notice the bomb's reactivation and explodes, leaving a bloody mess inside of the glass cube. The members of Les Fleurs du Mal clap as Prackett rejoices on himself for another ''failed'' Defiance.
Raymond Reddington talks with Liz about Les Fleurs du Mal, and she talks to his Task Force that Prackett hired Louis T. Steinhil to create a trap. In order to find Steinhil they must find whoever was in charge of the society. They got nothing of Les Fleurs du Mal except for rumors involving his traps, which include fighting with tigers, falling from the Eiffel Tower, and something involving piranhas. The only clue they have is a man named Charles Radcliffe that attended one of the society's events, and both Ressler and Aram go to his house to get a lead. Charle's wife Elodie answers for him as he was brain-dead thanks to participating in Prackett's Defiances, and accepts to go undercover with Aram to go to Les Fleurs du Mal's manor hidden in a secret island.
Meanwhile, Prackett talks with Wilbur Eaton, right hand and creator of his traps about the next Defiance trap that will be featured the next event. He makes sure with him that it is completely unwinnable, as the Defiance involved unlocking something with a key, but the index finger's and thumb of the player would be dislocated in the process, making it impossible. Prackett visits Aram and both sell them their undercover story which Prackett suspects, but at the end he gives them the invitation and would soon send them instructions on how to reach the event.
Once they reached the place, the heroes had to wear a tracking device in pieces to prevent the guards from noticing it, but it proved to be useless as the entire manor was covered with a jammer that prevented the tracking device to work. Prackett tells to the guest that the Defiance will soon begin and wishes them good luck. Some moments later, Prackett starts to randomly choose a guest to be the player, and unfortunately for Aram, it resulted to be Elodie, who was dragged by Prackett's henchmen to be featured in the Defiance. Aram takes this chance to cut the power of the manor in order to shut down the jammer and made the GPS of the tracking device to work, but it could only be for a few minutes before someone went to repair the issue. When the lights return, Prackett finally shows the Defiance, being a sealed glass box containing Elodie. This required Elodie to escape by unlocking a door located above the box before she was suffocated by glass beads that were filling it. Desperate, Elodie says to Aram to tell them that he was from the FBI thinking that would save her, but only made Aram being target for Prackett's henchmen. Still, Aram manages to kill most of the guards and release Elodie before she was suffocated, but as the place was filled with security, they could not escape.
Prackett tells Aram that he would tell to his guards everything the FBI knew of him and Les Fleurs du Mal, and then he would drown them at the water's edge. Aram and Elodie are ultimatedly saved by the FBI Task Force that followed the minimum signal when Aram shut down the power of the jammer, and Prackett is arrested. He is interrogated about Steinhil's whereabouts, but Prackett denies to cooperate with them. It is not until Ressler threatens him to advocate his own death sentence that Prackett spits everything, and he is condemned with life imprisonment.
Twamie Ullulaq (No. 126)[]
Despite Prackett himself not appearing on the episode, his case is re-examined by Aram Mojtabai as he believes Elodie Radcliffe actually tried to kill her husband Charles to inherit a millionaire quantity of money by using Prackett's traps. Aram interrogates Wilbur Eaton and he confesses that he actually made a deal with her to invite Charles to Les Fleurs du Mal and manipulate the roulette so Prackett would choose him for the Defiance which was supposed to be a death sentence, but it only managed to disable him and making him almost brain-dead. Since Charles didn't die, Elodie tried to use Aram and made Wilbur manipulate the roulette again to make Prackett choose her so Aram could save her, as he wanted to use Blacklisters to find a 'murder weapon' for her husband that she ultimatedly finds as she poisoned Charles to inherit the prenup. The episode ends confirming that she orchestrated everything, but at the end she actually loved Aram. It is likely that Prackett didn't know that Wilbur was working behind his back.
Personality[]
Prackett is shown to be really charismatic, educated, eloquent, affable and charming, also having traits of leadership and flamboyance. Prackett believes that life can be boring and that everyone is looking for a good thrill to feel alive, which is why he makes the Defiances. Of course, this is all a facade, Prackett's true personality can be described as a murderous high-class psychopath that has absolutely no value for the human life. He is also somewhat sadistic as he not only rejoices in murdering his own guests, but also with their despair and confidence when they know they are about to die, which he is really proud of. He is highly narcissistic and thinks he is at the apex of his own society, and so he can control their lives in the way he pleases.
Trivia[]
- Despite him and Les Fleurs du Mal being number 151 in the Blacklist, the episode chart shows them as 150.
- As Aram found no information about Prackett, it is heavily implied that it may not be his real name.
