Nexus Riot Guards are minor antagonists appearing exclusively in the Madness: Project Nexus series, serving as elite/heavily armored soldiers of the Nexus Core.

Description[]

Riot Guards are clad in protective armor and have Tac-Bars that are harder to decrease than ones belonging to other enemies. They are also are incredibly agile and often dodging by flipping, making it fairly difficult to land a hit on one. They are typically armed a billy club and a gun. Though their armor allows them to take large amounts of damage without dying, are still vulnerable to Nexus bolts and will die instantly if hit with one.

In the sequel, MADNESS: Project Nexus, Riot Guards got reworked as heavy infantry and usually wield a stun baton to deal damage against their adversaries and a riot shield that they will use to protect their selves from incoming damage (whether it be ranged, melee or unarmed), but can also be seen wielding ranged weapons in Story Mode, while their roles as elite soldiers were replaced by Nexus Engineers and Soldats. They look very different from their Classic appearance, now wielding more armor, making them slower but tougher when it comes to battle. This armor can be broken by dealing high amounts of damage against the tactician, which will expose their heads or body. Their attacks are also sluggish, which allows the player to get a hit on the guard. They can also be stunned by shoving/kicking them away with the scroll wheel, which will also leave them vulnerable.

History[]

During the events of MPN2's Arena Mode, some Riot Guards are stationed in a Nexus Core facility near Nexus City and fight intruders like the Player.

After Dr. Christoff rebelled against the Nexus Core and sought to destroy the monstrous creatures he had created, Riot Guards were eventually deployed against him to stop his rampage. They confronted Christoff after he entered the Science Tower. They were initially opposed to the zombies and Abominations until Phobos managed to bring them all under his control with the power of the Nexus.

Many years later, they can be seen fight Hank, Dr. Christoff, Sanford, and Deimos.
