~ Monstrox announcing his return to Knighton in Issue 24. |
Monstrox is the main antagonist of the LEGO Nexo Knights promotional magazine. Just like his canon counterpart, he is a necromancer who used to be part of the Wizards' Council, until he discovered Forbidden Powers and threatened Knighton with them. He was defeated by Merlok and imprisoned in the form of the Book of Monsters, but released by Jestro, who became his right-hand man, a century later.
Appearance[]
In human form, Monstrox wore a black robe with a cloak and a hood of the same colour. His face appeared to be completely black with flaming red or orange eyes and mouth, although it's unknown whether it was his actual appearance or it was obscured by his hood.
As a book, he has a brown cover, with his eyes and mouth somewhat similar to the ones he had as a human.
After the destruction of that form, Monstrox would become a white living cloud, nevertheless having the exact same face as before.
Monstrox would eventually possess the body of the Stone Colossus, a humanoid behemoth made of rock, its head decorated with embedded Forbidden Powers.
The necromancer's final form would be that of a computer virus, embodied by a green holographic replica of his human body.
Biography[]
Monstrox's biography mostly matches his TV series counterpart's, with some minor differences, up until the ending of Season 4 and after.
2018 issues[]
After his Stone Colossus form was destroyed, Monstrox would come back in the form of a digital virus, infiltrating Knighton's computer network. After announcing his return, he released his mechanical critters upon Auremville, turning a number of Squirebots into CyberByters loyal to him. Simultaneously, he began to infect the computer network, with the damage he did to it reflecting on the real world, with the potential to destroy it. Merlok fought him off and attempted to transfer his core Merlok Powers to Nexo Knights in order to keep them safe, but Monstrox interrupted him and the powers were scattered across the network.
Gaining an army of InfectoByters by resurrecting an extinct race of vampires, Monstrox continued to spread his infection and hunt for Merlok Powers. While he managed to infect all of Knighton sans Knightonia and severely weaken Merlok 2.0, the knights collected all the Merlok Powers. Clay entered the computer network to help out Merlok, who sacrificed himself to give his nephew the ultimate power. A battle between Clay and Monstrox ensued, in which the knight finally destroyed the necromancer for good and saved the kingdom from destruction.
